okay now I'm recording here too you're not singing though so I don't trust you
0:09
I'm oh we good now I'm
0:16
recording um hello hey twin hey twin Where Have You
0:23
Been nobody knows MMA like you do nobody
0:31
can't think of any more lyrics nobody break down fights just like
0:37
you can't even deny it even though we're
0:42
women we know what we're talking about when it comes to winning hey I did it I
0:49
did it I believed in you yes yes I did it I I lived the song and
0:57
before your coffee too I know yo I on a roll it's going to be a good day it
1:03
is what's up guys um we're coming off of UFC Louisville and there was some
1:11
controversy all night I know they couldn't get their hands off of
1:18
controversy it was like early stoppages robberies split decisions like what are
1:23
you guys doing over there you know what there's must be something in the water over in Louisville they they all got hit
1:29
with that bat before that Louisville bat you know the Louisville slugging before
1:35
they before they got in there and did their job I was I was more talking about the the blue people with the water thing
1:41
but you know that's it's fine we blue people with the water thing yeah we won't get into that oh I need to know
1:48
I'm not a l you never heard about the Kentucky Blues no no I mean I've heard of it but
1:54
I don't know what water or anything no actually I think it's um I think it's a
2:00
genetic disease that was yeah a hereditary thing that um progressed
2:06
through IM breeding not the water
2:11
but it's like anyways I've heard I've heard someone say Kentucky Blues before
2:16
but I feel like I thought they were talking about music maybe they were maybe they weren't
2:22
oh we don't know gosh man educate me just well before we get into that dude I
2:30
like I wanted to start with the main event but we were talking about this
2:35
poor opener fight with the these two women in our weight class um do santz
2:42
versus Tomar oh my God and we were just getting fired up so I feel like we should start with that yeah let's
2:47
freaking coming hot I am fired up as the woman with the most robberies in the
2:54
UFC I've made history doing that getting robbed the most I am fired up for do
3:00
Santos that was ridiculous so um I I was just reviewing it and you know we were
3:07
just talking about it and it's really unfortunate that this woman came
3:13
on in her debut against another debutant yeah and debutant debutant I always
3:19
think of like Bridgeton have you seen the new the new season I haven't but girl I got a
3:27
Bridgeton dress at um oh it's on my other phone I got a Bridgeton dress at
3:33
um what's that place called Windsor and I'm so excited to wear it when are you going to wear it I have no way to wear
3:39
it I feel like we should do like a high tea o I need to go get my own cuz I
3:45
would love to have a Bridgeton dress and and some gloves yes it's so cute it has
3:52
like the off shoulders and the corset like top and then it's like very flowy
3:58
at the bottom I I love it very floral oh and it's really funny this is totally
4:03
off topic but when I went to Scotland to visit Adam's parents they have this
4:09
famous restaurant that's right near them is it's like really old probably built in the [ __ ] 1400s or some [ __ ] and uh
4:17
and they have like this special high tea room and so I'm in there with Adam's parents and his uncles and stuff uncle
4:24
and aunt and uh and this is like Japanese these two Japanese girls in the
4:30
corner having high tea and I never heard of high tea before like it's the thing
4:36
where you stack up the cakes and you drink tea it's very literal it's very very literal the cakes are all the way
4:42
up there they're up high yeah and you drinking teend your arm it was really funny but they're they're sitting there
4:49
like taking photos and and videos of them eating high tea the entire time and
4:54
his parents just couldn't stop talking [ __ ] about it was really great well there is
5:00
a place like in San Diego it's pretty close to to here I mean everything's like 20-minute drive anyways but there
5:05
is a place that we can go and have some high tea oh my God I can't wait yeah you got to get your dress yeah show me where
5:11
you got it and I'll go get mine yes it'll be great oh anyway the
5:18
debutant were out in the UFC making their first appearance with a really
5:23
live audience too like I think that's the best way to get into the UFC because your first fight you get in there it's a
5:31
crowd where they've been starving for UFC for so long that everyone's in their first fight of night and that's pretty
5:37
rare normally people like don't come out until like 700 p.m. they don't come out into that opening yes the big opening
5:43
they want the spectacular entrance for themselves yeah and uh to feel the the lights camera action kind of thing for
5:50
sure my um remember when we did our tough finale I was I think I was the
5:55
first fight on the card and when I got out there I was like okay this going to be that moment CU we had only done tough
6:01
fights I'm like oh this is going to be live this is going to be like 10 times bigger than the biggest Muay Thai show I've ever done I get out there like five
6:09
people in the crowd I mean you were right the building was 10 times larger than any mu Tha that you ever been
6:16
building yes building however it was not filled to capacity at that point the attendance was minimal I get more people
6:23
watching me Spar um but I could hear my uh my people
6:29
really loud I can hear my mom and my brother go let so it's great I've gone
6:35
out you know early on on some of my fights and I it's just a different
6:40
energy it's a definitely different feeling you definitely notice it and and feel the void the the space it's like uh
6:47
into the abyss the the black hole it just like um it kind of Echoes a little bit differently there there there's no
6:54
bodies that like the sound can bounce off of so it bounces off the walls it's very it's very noticeable and then I
7:00
remember there's this one guy on my last fight and he was like yelling at me and I was like thanks buddy I I didn't know
7:07
him but he was yelling for me good and I I heard him cuz nobody else was in the building a that's always awesome I mean
7:13
I heard you guys yeah and the one guy that was like die
7:19
hard for you that's awesome thank you thank you I love that there was like a grappling tournament I did a long time
7:25
ago and it was probably one of the ones that made me go I'm not doing this anymore but like I didn't have any
7:31
people there I just like I'll go on these little like secret grappling Adventures by myself and then every now
7:37
and then someone will just start coaching me because the other person will have all these people they like oh do this do this do that and I'm just
7:44
like H trying to Grapple and then someone go hold her head down I'm like
7:50
oh good idea that's a great idea thank you good idea I will hold her head down it was like you in the tough house
7:55
you're like kicker I'm like thanks thanks I will I don't know you but but
8:00
you're on my side and I like that I just saw the open and I couldn't
8:06
let it slide like you kick her in the head over and over again and get dead
8:12
it's there and that's why I corner you now
8:19
officially I can't can't miss that voice yeah I I'm a good unofficial corner like
8:24
oh sure yeah I I feel like if uh if someone I know is on one side at a cage
8:30
in their corners on the other I can just like listen in and hear what they're saying and just say it like really loud
8:35
and like and it cuts through like a dog whistle it does it it's unmistakable I
8:41
can see their ears perk up like and then they do the move and I'm like I did that
8:48
they're not gonna give me credit but I know I did that but anyway the
8:54
debutant so dosantos was very impressive Ed she was having a little bit of
9:00
trouble with the range of Tomar yeah because she was you know utilizing that that lead leg you know little little
9:07
teep side and and that's I feel like that holds so much that's what she
9:15
should have done so much weight yeah do Santos had a really nice rope in off of
9:20
off of that leg she was trying to figure out that the whole time but yeah she
9:26
had sometimes it takes a while to get used to to the speed of it cuz it was fast it was a fast chambered one um and
9:34
when they oh and poor Jess is sick today I've been sick all week I'm sorry guys she is uh what do you call it you're
9:41
you're taking one for the team you you're mustering up all your energy to do this little show for everyone so you
9:48
better like And subscribe and comment lots of likes lots of subscribes coms
9:54
some tussen put some tussen on it um yeah it started happening last week um I
10:01
I was listening like as I'm you know doing the the little clip editing I can hear my like I'm like oh God it's worse
10:07
than normal and my my sinuses are always a freaking mess I can always hear myself but it was exceptionally bad and I was
10:13
like it's just sinus allergy season it's fine no I'm not fine I've been I've been
10:18
sick all week sick as a d she's hurting she's hurting guys yes but she's still
10:24
here for you because I love you yes but yeah the uh the push
10:30
they're hard to time especially when they kind of chamber them and then go is like you kind of reach to grab them and
10:37
then they don't throw yet and then they throw it really fast So eventually she got that timing down and was able to uh
10:42
deal with it pretty well I feel like that could have been the the kicks and
10:47
the the sound behind tomar's am I saying it right Tomar yeah that's how they were
10:53
saying I think um behind all of her movements I feel like it made it a
10:59
bigger score than it should have yeah like the volume the the face everything
11:05
behind it the face no she had a she had her game face on the whole freaking time I noticed that it was it was an
11:10
intimidating face uh but what dos Santos did was she found the timing she started
11:16
following the kicks and she started stuffing her and getting into that pocket area where she was Ling those big big shots uh like you were saying
11:23
earlier the overhand right was Landing so nicely um I I'm not exactly sure how
11:31
she lost that fight but it broke my heart when she thought she won and they raised the other girl's hand there's no
11:38
reason she lost that fight and I can't believe that the judge just scored it
11:43
3027 both ways both ways I I don't agree with it both ways so I'm I'm kind of mad
11:50
because Sal deato is the only one who got it right
11:56
s it's a where were you buddy where were you when actually I think he scored one
12:01
of my fights right but one of them one of them he wasn't nobody hit him up for the fix this time
12:09
he's like hey hey guys I could have made this a clean a clean deal no Split Decision you just got to cut me in but
12:15
uh salato scored the fight right he scored 3027 which is what I thought if anything maybe you give uh Tomar that
12:23
last round where she was just landed a bunch of push kicks but at the same time
12:28
like do Santos just was Landing all these punches to the Head she finished strong it was like I couldn't have seen
12:36
any round really for tomar and then Derek clearly the other one who uh
12:41
scored for her gave dos Santas dosantos the first round which was very very
12:47
clear like she was just mashing her up with the punches and then he gave Tomar
12:53
the second and third round which I mean I can't make a case for any of these uh
12:58
the med scores is what I always like to go to just to make sure I'm not crazy
13:03
and the media people they were also there you know there's a media table they're watching the fight live so it's
13:08
not like we're just getting a weird angle but the media every person in the
13:14
media scored for dos Santos you have six people who gave her 30 27 and then you
13:20
have five media scores 29 28 dos Santos that's ridiculous every media person
13:27
that was there scored for her it it it shouldn't have happened it breaks my
13:33
heart man because that's our first fight first fight she I mean it's gonna to make her a better fighter because both
13:39
of them are pretty green so that's the that's kind of the light but at the same
13:44
time you can lose your faith in just the
13:51
process of winning you she did everything right and I watched the fight live and then we were just reviewing it
13:57
again and I can't tell her what she did wrong you know like did like if I was her coach
14:04
I'm like you did everything right you answer you you dealt with all her
14:09
offense that was coming with you you scored bigger you landed the more damaging shots like the only thing I
14:15
could say she could have done better is finished the fight and you know she was winning on the feat so why Take It to
14:22
the Ground I know the the commentators were saying oh she tomar's not really that great on the ground she has some
14:28
areas to improve on so that would be a path to victory in in the future but
14:35
that fight right there then and there that should have been scored for her I agree yeah um which is why I'm grappling
14:42
an now because [ __ ] that [ __ ] well that's how you lost your significant striking score you things don't bring it
14:50
up I'm sorry but I have to [ __ ] strickling man can't finish a goddamn fight always got to go to the fifth
14:57
round you need more fight rounders mother [ __ ] gotta bump up those numbers in I
15:04
do I do who wants to fight me Main Event come on and D let's go rematch time
15:10
that's not GNA go five rounds I wouldn't wanted
15:15
to let's do co-main I'm good with that it's a hard
15:22
five rounder oh God who wants that who would want
15:27
that enough Mone on the line I'm sure true
15:32
true that's a long break though uh but yeah um that fight broke
15:40
me heart broke me heart broke me heart me no talk no more it uh brought up a
15:46
lot of PTSD from just past decisions but it was just such a clear decision that you
15:54
can't even argue that it was close in my opinion mhm
15:59
do we want to talk about the narrative that they were pushing I think we have to I think we
16:04
have to too so they um the broadcast team and I mean MMA media leading up to
16:10
the fight were really pushing Tomar because she is the first Indian
16:17
woman yeah to compete and now win in the UFC now the the weird narrative is is
16:24
that she's the first Indian fighter however she's not because she's not cuz
16:30
I was listening to the broadcast I read all these articles and they were all saying that she was she's not um and how
16:38
I know this is because I got to do a few fight breakdowns for mola Sport and one
16:44
of them was the first Indian fighter anel Jubilee um who was in the road to the UFC who just had a big win over a
16:51
friend of mine Jack Aerie at an apex Fight Night dang so the narrative is
16:57
wrong and they still fixed it for her weird I was actually a lot more shocked
17:04
by this before we started recording because I totally like I I totally took the bait
17:10
I didn't do any re research they were telling me this is the first Indian woman or Indian first Indian ever to win
17:17
a fight in UFC and I'm like yo that's pretty that's pretty dope I guess that's why they robbed other girl but she
17:23
wasn't she wasn't she's the first Indian woman which I mean it's a big feat because that's big we haven't seen a
17:29
whole lot of talent yet come out of of India and I know that they're really trying to Big build up the Asian market
17:36
that's why they have the road to the UFC tournament that's why you know they're they just built the UFC uh Institute in
17:44
China yeah and so I know that they're really trying to cultivate and and dive
17:50
in to that talent pool which you know isn't it's untapped at this point so I
17:55
understand their excitement and they're wanting to push it but you already did it and that was recent too um Jaa just got
18:03
into the UFC so that was like last year right it was I can look it up yeah you
18:08
can check the date but it was within maybe I mean within the last year yeah
18:14
Jubilee um un ju un ju
18:20
he fought he beat he TKO which is an
18:25
even more impressive win too why are you guys not fight uh TKO Jack Jacka saki who you
18:33
know is usually TKO and people well and he also fought up a weight class for that tournament so now he's going down
18:39
into his more suited weight class which is he's more of a 145 for sure okay and
18:44
that was February uh 2023 mhm so yeah there's recent history but yeah I don't
18:52
know I don't get it um and I'm like where were you guys when I was the first
18:57
black woman to headlin an event I feel like you got that headline though well to win a main event I feel like you got
19:06
that they stole it from me I didn't getline oh I didn't to win a main event
19:12
that's the headline that I wanted the narrative I was pushing that no one else
19:18
was I'm sorry they're like no that's not a thing we're not doing that you already
19:25
have black lives matter no no it was 20 2020 they were over
19:30
it um yeah so that was just a straightup robbery I was I was livid and then
19:36
that's how they started off night and they kind of cons they kind of continued
19:42
suit oh poor thing leave it up here your little Stanley
19:47
Cup ready to sometimes I have aspirations to be very basic ready to
19:53
beat down on a girl with your Stanley Cup I'll knock a b out with that thing that thing's heavy duty yes no there's
19:59
there's like this stupid Tik Tok video where a girl gets in a fight and and she's like hitting her what the Stanley
20:07
like that I would be like this yeah well that's probably what happened hold her hair like this I should do a tutorial
20:13
breakdown yeah how to [ __ ] a bch up with a Stanley Cup yes guys if you need any tutorial breakdowns we can uh we can get
20:20
them for you but I feel like that's a winner right there yeah just let us know I don't know maybe we might get flagged
20:25
for violence though it's satire we have to put down the uh disclaimer we are
20:34
professionals we will we will yeah yeah we'll do that just for you guys don't worry it's
20:41
satire um but there were a lot of weird split decisions the other straw we fight where um uh my home girl Denise GS she
20:51
was fighting uh the other Brazilian chick that is freaking huge hug huge
20:59
that is a flyweight she's a flyweight at least so when um I fought in Brazil and
21:04
I fought Denise goes she kind of looked a little big but she's a normal flyweight or normal straw weight size
21:12
this girl Mora was walking around bigger than uh Jenna who is I saw her there I'm
21:18
pretty sure yeah she was [ __ ] huge and this is uh before the weight cut she was walking around huge like at least
21:25
she must have been at least 140 at during fight week and um she missed
21:30
weight by a lot this time she only missed weight by half a pound I think but she still never made straw weight
21:37
and she continues to look gigantic in there on Fight Night so during the fight
21:43
she was just Gass the entire time trying to grab onto Denise trying to drag her
21:49
down to the ground where she'd have some success and I thought GPS did a really good job of handling that scoring um and
21:58
again one judge tried to give the fight to Mora it was ridiculous and like this one
22:06
there's a little more to debate because it's like okay she's trying to control she's trying to Grapple how much control
22:13
time is going to match you know the few punches that Gomes was able to land before she got free but at the same time
22:21
we always talk about okay if there's grappling and no damage there's grappling and no threat of a submission
22:28
then you know how are you going to score that as someone winning a fight when there's
22:34
things to score on the other side this one was kind of hard for me because I was leaning towards Mora oh really I
22:40
really was because Denise Gomez was more defensive
22:47
more defensive Mor defensive got that that's how everyone
22:52
has to fight her just be more defensive um yes she showed a lot of ss
22:58
of a and there was there was another example on this fight card of why you should go up a weight class and that was
23:05
with um Sorano wait is that
23:11
Paulo Paulo the Hawaiian oh um uh what is his
23:18
name uh yeah it's Sano okay yes uh but we'll get back to that because I really
23:24
want to talk about that fight too okay um the thing with Mora is is one I I do
23:30
think she needs to go up because I think that weight cut I mean she's not even she's not made the weight and right now
23:35
it doesn't really count cuz it's not a title fight or a main event kind of fight so it'll kind of get swept under
23:42
the rug but at some point like she needs to go up I I think that it's taxing her
23:47
body more than it's benefiting her in a fight yeah um anytime she gets after the first
23:55
round I just feel like her her frame her weight cut is going to affect her because she's not making those
24:01
adjustments before the Camp starts uh I I did think that g obviously landed more
24:08
strikes because Mora was going for the takedown she was timing the takedown really well against a much smaller
24:15
stature of a fighter which was impressive but I I feel that all of her takedown
24:22
attempts and control time weighed more than what gumas was
24:28
was doing see that's where we differ because Gomez well all right the one guy
24:34
who gave it to Mora he gave her the first and second round so the first round I thought was kind of even when it
24:41
came to control time and Gomes was the only one who was Landing so Gomes had
24:47
her in that deep submission for a while uh she was able to Grapple with her
24:53
there was back and forth in the grappling after the submission attempt and then she was the only one who was Landing strikes and that that round they
25:01
gave to MOA and then the second round it was a lot of the same I think she had more success um just kind of St stifling
25:09
goms in the second round but it was still the only strikes landed were goms
25:14
that was and there was never a submission threat she was never close to
25:19
getting to a position where she could threaten like any type of finish because all she was doing was holding her like
25:26
she wasn't even letting up pressure to land a strike and so that's where I'm like okay you can't score a fight for
25:34
someone If eventually the person that they're holding on to for dear life gets up and punches them in the face and like
25:41
that happened every round even the last round uh MOA just tried her damn this to
25:46
get something going and Gomes was ahead of the game so I felt like 3027 was the
25:51
right score and uh when you're thinking of damage when you're thinking of
25:57
control time that doesn't really do anything that doesn't lead to damage or
26:03
doesn't lead to a position to end the fight um she didn't even get close she didn't even get to like five steps away
26:10
from a finish five steps away from locking up isolating something grab it onto a neck or anything she literally
26:16
just would cover her start to get a hook in and then lose it you know so that I I
26:21
really feel like that shouldn't be scored unless you're able to posture up and do something or start to like hunt
26:27
for things and she never got to a point where she could do that and then again I like to go to the media
26:34
scores um I'm not sure which round they gave MOA but um most of it was five
26:41
media scores gave 3027 for golems and then six gave uh 2928 for goms so that
26:48
one again I felt like it was a pretty clear decision and I don't know man I I
26:56
just feel like we got to get the the [ __ ] story straight on what's being
27:01
scored sure you know and this one was a tougher one to score but it was still all right this these are the things that
27:08
you guys are saying are scoring more damage you're looking for damage control
27:14
time only comes into play if there's no damage so it's like if she was on top of
27:20
Denise goes and goes was never able to land anything
27:26
then you can give the round to her I saw that the the efforts and the
27:31
control time and the relentlessness of Mora were scoring that's for me um because I I look at her
27:39
and I look at the weapons that she has and she was utilizing those weapons she's she's not a stri she's a gra she's
27:45
not a striker she's a Grappler she was a stri a a strier it's a new new wave MMA ooh
27:53
striking it's very fancy that's what uh that's what uh Tomar was
27:59
doing like
28:05
striking um so I just look at her her skill set and I'm like okay she's utilizing her skill set to the best of
28:12
her abilities against somebody else's skill set I thought she was giving
28:18
Denise a lot of problems but I mean Denise was doing a great job with with
28:24
the countering with attempting submissions even though they weren't really necessarily like locked in there
28:30
um she was more threatening to get her to move in my opinion when she had some of those some of those chokes I think it
28:38
was more a threat instead of like really attempting like going to the ground with it or you know pulling her off and
28:43
trying to get on top of her um it was a great strategy against that opponent I think she did a great job there I just
28:50
saw her more using her Tools in that way and I thought it was a little bit more
28:56
dominating that's just my opinion we can agree to disagree of
29:03
course she was lighting her ass up and then defending really well yeah I
29:08
think you have to count defending too because uh see I don't know about defending well I mean if you're
29:16
defending and attacking and it's stifling each other if it's stal meting each other then it
29:22
gets wiped clean that's how I feel if you're trying to do something and the person's able to defend it and get you
29:28
off of them you never get a hook in you never wrap anything up you never get around the neck you never get to a
29:34
dominant position you never pass you know like that's that's defending effectively she never got to a point
29:41
where she could do some damage she never got to a point where she felt comfortable enough enough to let go and
29:47
punch you know it was all Gomez moving making her try to hold and move and then
29:54
getting up and hit her in the face yeah so yeah I I feel like you have to remember it's it's a fight and if we're
30:02
going to go with this damage thing if we're seeing damage scores then you have to look at it that way but if you're
30:09
looking at it like a jiu-jitsu tournament then yeah that girl beat her like she got the takedowns as two points
30:16
not necessarily an MMA uh sorry a Jiu-Jitsu match but like an MMA match an MMA fight I mean we have all of these
30:23
tools from different disciplines and we have to utilize them to the best of our ability mhm and that's what I saw her do
30:28
really well yeah yeah and she has hands to hit she didn't use them she too big
30:35
and TI it I know and and that's you know something that I really want to highlight too is let's let's start
30:43
fighting at something that is more healthy for us so that we can perform to the best of our ability yeah I think too
30:48
many people are still really stuck in that mindset of well if I am bigger and
30:54
stronger coming in than you know these gaps I don't have to fill in and that's
31:00
really frustrating to watch it only gets you so far and I think she's she's going to see that she's hitting a wall
31:05
hopefully that's the feedback that she sees from this fight because she did lose from it so hopefully it's an
31:11
opportunity for her to learn and grow and realize like hey I either need to really change my lifestyle or you know
31:18
and get smaller or I need to start adapting to a bigger weight class yeah and that'd be tough for her because
31:23
she's she's tall she's uh she's like you know has that Big Frame she's big boned
31:30
like she doesn't look like I the hotel lobby I came I came up to chess height and I looked at of her and I was like oh
31:37
my goodness yeah no she's it says that she's 5'6 but she looks like pretty tall
31:43
and um and she's a thick 56 she's not like a little flimsy looking wafer girl
31:51
you know so that's and that was at her flimsiest before she made weight when I saw her and I'm just like oh who's this
31:58
new bantamweight seriously she was really excited to meet me I was like oh who's this new bantamweight I was like that's
32:04
a St kid out of here she sus get out of here so seriously get out yeah I think
32:10
it'd be really tough for her to make that weight weight and be able to perform the best of her ability she was
32:16
only half a pound off but look at what that did to her you know so I totally agree I think going up a weight class
32:23
getting getting like that weight on you so you don't feel like you're losing you're giving away size and still be
32:30
able to perform because if your uh strengths are grappling it doesn't
32:36
matter what size you are you can always submit someone you know is there's less um less when it comes less to worry
32:43
about because you're good at the sweeps you're good at off balancing you're good at like you know getting to those
32:48
submission positions I feel like her skills would translate well even if her opponents had a few pounds on her sure
32:55
yeah so uh let us know in the comments e that one that fight the thing is I'm not
33:02
trying to be right I'm just stating my opinion I just want to hear what our viewers think because that will drive
33:09
more viewers to our page and that's all we care about we
33:14
don't care about your opinions but we do but we do we do I
33:20
want to hear it just agree with me and I'll like it or agree with Jess and she'll like it just just do it just just
33:28
comment something just say we look nice tell me I'm pretty please tell me
33:34
I'm smart and important uh um what else was oh there was another uh Split
33:40
Decision I felt like oh um what did you think about the uh Del Roa fight Del Roa
33:47
versus Andrea Lee well I thought it came down to the last round and I thought I
33:53
was impressed I thought that De Rosa has looked kind of
33:58
she's a she's a little bit slower of a fighter to like to get started to get
34:03
started and Andrea Lee comes out fast right away yeah and she has a lot of
34:09
volume she's she has great boxing she's great in the pocket and I thought that she might beat De la Rosa to the punch
34:16
and give her a lot of problems but I was really impressed with with De la Rosa
34:22
yeah she her boxing made me a fan because before I was like oh this is another one of those like Grappler girls
34:29
who just kind of go and then try to grab at your legs and drag you down and then
34:34
if that doesn't happen then it's a rough night for her but she proved that she doesn't need to drag him down to to win
34:41
a fight she was winning the Striking especially in that third round so yeah I I think you're right like one and one
34:47
going into the third and then I felt like her boxing was really taking it away in that third round I agree yeah
34:54
she was Landing some really nice combinations um man her frame is so big for that weight class you think so I
35:01
think I mean Andre Lee is kind of smaller for the weight class so watching them grapple was just it looks like a
35:09
big sister on a little sister kind of thing it was just kind of funny to me I'm like wow she has she has a lot of of
35:15
body Andrea Lee is kind of built like butcher she's kind of like tiny
35:22
head you always talk about her tiny head leave her alone it's small it's small for her frame her her body is the body
35:31
of a bantamweight and she has the head of a child which is why she makes which is
35:37
why she makes flyweight so well and it's like it has nothing to do with how she looks I think she's gorgeous I think
35:44
she's a a a beautiful little uh beautiful little cowgirl you know um but
35:50
she has a small head so I feel like it can work to her Advantage she
35:56
slip punches better she can like when you get that head pressure and your head's a little
36:01
smaller you really poet oh yeah like really dig in there um hard to choke
36:09
sure slip out of things sure all those things yeah yeah but I I do I I see what
36:15
you're saying it did look like uh De Rosa she was just able to cover her better I think I think it was just a
36:21
skill thing really she was able to get on top cover her really hip down get to those good positions where uh she looked
36:29
dominant but then I was really impressed with her when it would go back to the
36:34
feet and she just looked like a a Diaz brother you know she just looked like a
36:40
gamer just in her face in the pocket would throw a big one two straight down
36:46
the pipe to no loopy punches Like You Can Tell She's really been working on her striking yeah and every time she
36:52
would throw it would catch Lee off guard like it was almost like she didn't expect her to throw straight punch at
36:59
her he not going to hit this little head well no so um I was really impressed
37:05
with her that that fight made me a fan for sure yeah I've really liked I've really been impressed with her her
37:11
grappling her wrestling but like you were saying she really closed the gap on that striking she looked she looked like a different fighter this fight no for
37:17
sure reinvigorated and uh going back to MMA decisions um they were all on the same
37:25
page as us every media person scored at 2928 De la Rosa and who scored it for
37:32
injury Lee let's see Robert Pope who the [ __ ] is that who
37:38
that guy who the [ __ ] is that he had uh round one and two for Lee which is
37:45
pretty crazy I felt like round two was her strongest round De La Rose's
37:50
strongest round so that's pretty wild y'all need to go back to school get your eyes
37:57
checked like take a a sobriety test before you
38:02
step into the arena like something come on judges do better it's like to keep
38:08
you know a license in pretty much every Arena like you have to complete a certain um course a certain amount of um
38:16
you know get a certain amount of credits to like reup your license right like I'm a real estate agent every two years I
38:22
have to fulfill requirements to reup my license yeah
38:29
if we want to drive you know we too also have to pass a test yeah these these uh
38:37
judges are over here running over every cone and they not using the blinker no
38:45
can't can't uh uh parallel park to save your life nope and yet you uh still have
38:52
your license to um dictate whether somebody gets paid or not we need to uh
38:57
connect the athletic commissions with the DMV and for give a a special section
39:04
for athletic commissions I exam IQ exam we also need to know your age because
39:11
just like you know being a a traffic uh plane what are those freaking oh the air
39:18
traffic control yes yes to do that like you can't do it past the certain age oh interesting you have to you can't uh
39:24
ingest like any kind of Splendor anything like that just like pilot wouldn't because you have to be very
39:30
like cognizant and coherent and anything that delays your your brain activity could affect your judgment judges um so
39:37
there's all these these you know criterias and and stringent rules for people to maintain their
39:44
jobs and yet these people have none you still have jobs continually continually
39:52
messing up how it's ridiculous I would love just just a multiple choice test
40:00
just that the 20 questions they give you the 20 Questions when you try to get your driver's license and it could be
40:07
any question out of the Big Book of Rules and if you get less than 70% then
40:13
you can't drive you have to take it again agree I think the judges should have that it would be multiple fights
40:19
just make them watch 20 different fights and judge those fights the way they should be judged and if they mess up
40:25
three then sorry try again get suspended try again next
40:31
week but we'll see I don't think anything's going to happen you know what
40:36
I feel like we keep talking about it maybe eventually we'll listen well we need to get Robert Pope out of there
40:42
because he doesn't know what the heck he's looking at and um who's the other J judge we had Derek clearly and who's the
40:49
other one for the Puja one Sal deato got it right Matt Jones
40:55
who I've never heard of he scored 3027 for Tomar Matt Jones Robert Pope you [ __ ]
41:03
up you're on our list now we're watching you you're on the watch list um but we
41:09
should probably get on the Main and the co- main oh Louisville we were so fired
41:15
up about Judges that we just spent 40 minutes we had a lot to say it needed to
41:22
be said so we said it oh God don't worry guys I'll put in some chapter
41:31
for oh be like uh tomorrow in uh in Dos
41:36
Santos High te tomor do Santos judges suck tomor do
41:44
Sant oh god um yeah the main
41:50
event I'm so mad about that was one of our piics oh you're lucky
41:57
I am not lucky you're lucky because my pick for so we both picked Reyes to win
42:03
I picked um or no we both picked um what's his name what's the kid's name
42:09
yeah Rey is no Raul Rosa Rosa I picked y Kobe
42:15
racist racist we both we both we both picked Ral roses yes you picked jacobe I
42:21
picked Reyes so that was my point and then you picked IM imab and I picked kir
42:28
so that was your point thanks to your buddy Jason Herzog my boy Jess was like
42:36
Jason I don't want to drink a beerito again so help your girl out thank you
42:43
any moment you feel like you can jump in listen can listen Canon ear was doing
42:51
a great job closing the distance but he that game plan was starting to wear on him and imal was starting to find his r
42:57
do I think it was an early stoppage yes I do I agree however I don't think the
43:03
fight was going to go his way after that point I think it was really starting to wear on him and I think he was starting
43:09
uh imav was starting to really find find that sweet spot with the range and
43:14
starting to to wear down caner no and I think everyone agrees with you when it
43:20
comes to that um but you still want to see it play out absolutely you still
43:25
want to see it play out there's been so many fights where it just seems like all the chips are down you've been doing
43:30
everything you can and the other sad thing about it is that he was up two rounds going into that yeah he didn't
43:37
get a chance to finish the fight and if he had been able to survive been able to clinch up been able to do anything to
43:43
just survive that pummeling that he was getting and it was bad it was definitely bad but he was still on his feet up less
43:51
than a second before Herzog jumped in he threw a huge counter hook that didn't
43:57
land but it was tight it was tight it was strong he was still there and we've
44:02
seen so many people survive those moments and come back strong that you it
44:07
just sucks because at this point of kaner's career he's not going to have a lot of opportunities anymore like he's
44:15
39 he's fighting for that spot to fight for the title again and it just kind of
44:25
it he wasn't allowed to go out on his own terms and I hear that and and I agree and it's really unfortunate um I
44:31
think I think Herzog is a great ref and I think everybody has those you know we're all human yeah we have those
44:37
moments where we just react and um in this case it you know potentially it it
44:45
caus somebody the opportunity to fight through adversity um a ref's job is to is to
44:51
protect he made the decision he made we can't take it back um you know we don't know what the fight would have looked
44:57
like moving forward and it is unfortunate with where koner is in his
45:04
career however I think that he'll still get other opportunities yeah it's just
45:10
it's always going to be devastating immediately after especially when you
45:16
look at the age you look at um the fact that he's fought for the title already you look at all the other people who can
45:23
get that title shot I think he'll be fine too but I know how frustrating it
45:29
could be as an older fighter when you're right there in that spot where a lot of
45:35
people also want to be a lot of these Young Guns want to be there's a lot of tough fights ahead of you and time isn't
45:42
really on your side and I think that's the part that frustrates me the most about this fight is that he was fighting
45:49
such a good fight he had a great game plan it was starting to wear on him like you said uh even the end of the second
45:56
round there were some really bad moments for Kanger even
46:02
though he won that round like there was some really like oh the last 10 seconds I feel like we're just like oh uh oh
46:08
yeah you know and uh imov took it away after that third and fourth it was all
46:13
imol um kingan air wasn't able to get him down anymore wasn't able to uh really hold him in clinch anymore or
46:21
Orlando shots in the pocket without eating something as well so it was uh it was uh interesting to see imol work
46:29
because usually he doesn't have that gritty of a style like he was doing like
46:34
I feel like he changed some things up where he's trying to be more aggressive trying to come forward a little more um
46:43
and kir did a great job of trying to stifle him it was it was similar to uh Strickland's game plan like straight
46:49
punches down the middle push him up against the fence use those clinch takedowns just like really try to stifle
46:55
him above and it was working but that dude is just so big he's really big he
47:00
huge he utilizes his range well and I mean there were some moments in the first and second rounds where I was like
47:06
oh this is kind of wearing on him you know the the grind like that kind that kind of pressure that caner was putting
47:13
on him I was like man I don't I don't know if he's like recovering very well but he did he snapped back out of it and he started getting that range because
47:20
just as it was draining his energy it was draining Canon's gas tank and and it
47:25
was like a fast drop off too ker yeah it was it's it's really hard that kind of
47:30
gritty grindy style like that's a really tough style but that's for his body type
47:36
against those long linky Fighters that he's typically had trouble with like he's had trouble with Strickland he had
47:41
trouble with um with Adisa th that's a really tough body type with with him
47:48
yeah um so he was doing the right adjustments in Camp for that fighter it
47:54
it was just starting to wear on him yeah it's just a shame uh the way that it stopped but yeah I don't think too many
48:02
people are mad about it just because he was in so much trouble before Herzog jumped in there don't worry Herzog
48:08
people are going to forget about this um I was looking at in the comments and they know his name that is a referee
48:16
whose name is known now well and he's pretty like active on social media too oh is he oh I didn't know that I only
48:23
see his like dog photos every now and then but um yeah it does suck that someone who is a
48:30
good R only really gets that notet when they [ __ ] up yeah like her Dean is
48:36
probably the most famous referee and it's not because he's great even though he is he's really good
48:41
referee but you know when when you [ __ ] up people really know your name and we
48:46
need to do that for the judges as well tell them Twitter handle Facebook Instagram
48:54
get your faces out there so we can talk [ __ ] if we got to take it you got to
49:00
take it too mhm if the referees have to take it you have to take it if Dana has to take it you have to take
49:07
everybody has to get it um yeah that that fight made me sad just because I'm
49:13
a huge fan of kir I love the way he fights his clinch is so nasty and when he hit that takedown against the fence I
49:20
was like oh he's wrestling Beast he's wrestling now I I really like him as a
49:26
fighter I just thought that this matchup would be tough for him because traditionally it has been a challenge
49:32
for him yeah yeah um I was really um impressed with um just the patience that
49:40
ovov had and he's probably gearing for a title shot next I think that's what he
49:46
was asking for whoever wins um for whoever's going to fight for the title against the PES and uh who do you like
49:54
because I think everyone's saying that it's going to be adang's return versus theis um for the next title shot and who
50:02
do you like for him in that in those matchups those possible matchups you mean
50:08
Strickland or um Adia versus dupes yeah like if he gets the winner of that one
50:13
how do you see him matching against either of those
50:18
guys they're fights that I want to see yeah definitely yeah um which do you want to see the most I would rather see
50:25
him fight Adia oh yeah I'd rather see it would beia because um they both have you know
50:35
great great range footwork they're both durable um I like the way both of them
50:41
fight MH um and I think it would be a really fun leadup to a fight because they both got
50:46
attitude yeah they're both a little sassy yeah I would like that the FIS is a little too much like uh I'm happy to
50:54
be here I deserve this well I think I'm a proud
51:00
African I I mean I think that's the fight that everyone wants to see is is
51:05
style Bender versus duples just because there's that crazy interaction postf
51:11
fight in the cage yeah so that's just going to be everywhere for marketing and
51:17
and build up so I I know that people want to see that I know that there there
51:23
will be a lot of you know buildup and energy and you know just craziness leading up to that fight
51:28
so I definitely want to see that yeah um and uh i s you could call him the NW
51:33
some more times that would be fun we should get a clicker for that one
51:38
too yeah I really need my own clicker oh man that was a good one that
51:44
was good promo well um yeah and then if deesis ends up
51:50
winning versus adaga then I can see that being a really
51:57
awkward fight for imov as well uh him versus dupes I feel like dupes is a really awkward fight for for everyone
52:04
for everyone everyone he just is it's just this weird Rhythm and style and the
52:10
power that guy produces that's the worst part is just devastating and it it's crazy to me
52:17
because every single time I see this guy match up against somebody on paper I'm like
52:23
no no and then he does it and I'm like [ __ ] well that's why his fight was strickling so wild because even though
52:29
they have completely different styles they're the same kind of awkward yes where they just ruin everyone's game
52:37
plan ruin how good they usually look against people and just make them look
52:42
sloppy and weird no they do they really take people out of their elements they really frustrate people and so it's
52:49
great that they had to fight each other and they should just have to fight each other for the rest of their career once
52:55
if neither of them have the well see it's um as a sentence fighting each other in hell for
53:01
what you did to these Fighters karmatic retribution yeah um I
53:08
I do think that Strickland should probably hold out and wait for the winner so he can get his rematch because
53:14
a lot of stuff can happen they were talking about was he calling imov out or was imov calling Strickland out
53:20
afterwards oh yeah he did he said he wanted a rematch I think they what side wait they fought out two 205 I believe
53:28
and just because it was short notice so yeah he wanted to get that one back I mean I I again I would I would
53:36
like to see that I just want to see it a little bit later yeah like call him out for the title you have that win over him
53:43
exactly that would be a great way to get back into that title contention
53:48
um yeah or money more options yeah definitely a more fun fight and for
53:55
whatever reason they didn't book Strickland uh the Strickland uh rematch
54:00
right away I don't know if it's because the pluses got injured or if it's because they just didn't want to give
54:06
Strickland that second chance I guess they only I think they only really do it
54:12
when you've been dominant for a few fights when they have that immediate rematch that or if it was a
54:19
controversial fight or if it was but that one was kind of controversial a lot of people thought that Strickland won I
54:26
I was leaning towards that too me too I'm pretty sure I thought he won um I was surprised I was like oh H
54:34
interesting I just want to see him fight out of say I think it would be really fun but you know like I wasn't sure that
54:41
he won that it was it was one of those uh one of those weird Strickland SL
54:46
weird uh Dees fights where it was just like I don't know what they were looking at but that was insane it was I think um
54:56
I think that sometimes it's in like the new contract Champion Clause with the immediate rematches so maybe it wasn't
55:04
in his contract maybe his yeah he didn't get the opportunity to put it in there yeah I feel like that happens when you
55:11

56:44
Reyes ande we should hit it was a quickie we can do a little Quicky Wiki it it it won't take
56:50
long we watch that fight like three times didn't they replay it like three times yeah they're trying to fill spill
56:55
space cuz it happened so fast like oh [ __ ] the the main event hasn't warmed up yet somebody so so's still in the bathroom on the commentary
57:03
desk yeah that was such a like everyone's talking about how Feelgood
57:09
momenty that was yes and I do feel bad because whenever there's a Feelgood
57:15
moment there's like a really heart you got to feel for the other guy
57:20
P I know because the this was a very winnable fight for both of them
57:26
absolutely they were both kind of on a skid both looking to just make that big comeback big statement like hey I'm back
57:34
and uh Reyes just happened to be the one that landed the punch first beat him to the punch o good job hey thanks yeah
57:42
thank you um every once in a while yeah y every every consistent you're
57:47
consistent with it thanks I love it I love it so much um Reyes had uh I feel
57:55
like he just had like a mental breakthrough in this camp and there was
58:00
another fighter who was talking about it too um but a lot of times when you focus
58:06
on the mental side especially a fighter like him who was basically undefeated before he fought Jon Jones and then went
58:13
on a four-fight skid that's hard it yeah it's easier for Fighters like me who
58:20
lost early in my career and I'm like okay I have the capacity to deal with heartbreak and I can go back into
58:26
another fight and win a few lose a few win a few but when you're just winning winning winning winning you almost don't
58:33
believe that you can lose and it's devastating when it happens it's devastating when it happens the first
58:39
time imagine how bad it feels on the fourth time oh honey I've been there well no but I mean
58:45
like the streak just makes it such a huge drop you know it's like how they
58:51
say the higher you climb the farther you can fall and he went from not just
58:58
having from the top of the world yeah not just having like this huge streak but also fighting Jon Jones and everyone
59:04
telling him that he won the fight so that's a moral Victory right there he's still on cloud nine but then he loses to
59:11
people who most would consider less than and it
59:17
just is such a huge Fall From Grace it can really it can really break a person down yeah and it can put you know
59:25
thoughts and feelings into yourself that it are really really hard to come out of
59:30
you can put you in a really dark place and once somebody becomes familiar with
59:36
defeat it it's hard to turn that around so I'm really glad to see that he you
59:43
know did what he had to do outside of the cage and and inside of the cage to make himself better because that's a
59:48
really really deep dark hole to dig yourself out of M there's um there's a few key words that like you here when
59:56
you can tell someone's been focusing on their mental like when they say I was just trying to be present I was just
1:00:01
trying to um you know focus on this this fight like when they talk about oh what
1:00:07
do you want next if they're like bro I haven't thought about that [ __ ] at all like they they had to they had to cut
1:00:14
all of that out they had to cut out all the expectations all the extra stories that they made up in their head like oh
1:00:20
if I win this fight this is going to happen if I win this fight this is going to happen that clouds your brain so much
1:00:26
where you can't just perform because you have all these expectations of what's going to happen when you do perform and
1:00:32
it stops you from just being in the moment it's really wild how that can how that can work backwards like that like
1:00:38
it do does the opposite of what you think it can do but having just like all
1:00:44
these expectations about an opportunity can really shut you down and I think
1:00:49
that's the hole that he was falling into every time he would get in there and then just lose and just not look like
1:00:55
him self and in this fight that one punch that one punch is what made him
1:01:02
famous being able to hit the counters being able to low people in and then
1:01:08
just land that powerful left hand like that's that's the thing that got him to the top so for him to be able to do that
1:01:14
again be in the moment just be comfortable in there um it's huge it it
1:01:20
does mean that we might be seeing the old uh you know Dominic Rey is again but
1:01:26
but uh only time will tell if he's able to do it multiple times but like he seems so happy he has his fiance you
1:01:34
know he just seems very comfortable in his skin and I think that's the first step to um just being able to love what
1:01:41
you do and perform to the best of your ability when you get in there not getting your own way I I loved hearing
1:01:49
him and seeing his energy in the in the post fight um when he was interviewed
1:01:54
with like the you know uh UFC desk yeah yeah it was really nice to hear how his
1:02:00
life is going so well because there's such an attachment to a fighter and their success you know you're only as
1:02:08
good as your last fight you are only as relevant as what's next and being present as you were just saying is so
1:02:14
important because it takes the pressure off there's so much um fear and anxiety
1:02:20
in the future and in the past and if somebody is not present then then
1:02:25
they're living in fear and anxiety yeah and fear and anxiety is is a place where you cannot Thrive it's not there's you
1:02:31
know people that are able to channel the the emotion the op pressure um and and utilize it and then after a while it
1:02:39
stops working it starts being effective because it just keeps piling on and piling on and like the brain the mind
1:02:46
can no longer filter it filter it yeah so um I was really happy that he's been
1:02:52
able to you know separate and stay present yeah it was
1:02:58
um it's like uh when you have a old computer and you have all these fouls on
1:03:05
it and it just stops working you need to clear your cookies
1:03:12
when you're when you're so focused on on the past and the future and you're full
1:03:18
of anxiety and all of it builds up it just slows down your processing
1:03:25
yes it does and you need to call the Geek Squad to get to get your RAM up so I
1:03:33
think that's what he did and and it seems to be working really well for him and the fact that he has like stuff
1:03:38
outside of fighting to to see self worth in you know that's that's going to do wonders for him as well yeah I'm I'm
1:03:46
definitely happy for him yeah me too it's and again it's it's sad on the other side but seeing somebody dig
1:03:51
themelves out of a hole is one of those stories that you know kind of just
1:03:57
excites me gives me hope yeah you know gives me motivation is inspiring to me
1:04:02
and you know hopefully inspiring to people that that watch us fight for sure for sure well let's do our exclusive
