all [Music] righty and we are
0:14
back we're back what's up everyone
0:23
yeah Jessie leave at me I know what am I going to do what am I going to do for
0:29
all this time sad because you love me so much I know and you have no other friends except for me I know I am going
0:35
to be really sad I'm going to be so sad actually I need to check and make sure we start record oh my
0:43
God we are yeah let's keep it in I like that it shows like how [ __ ] neurotic
0:49
I am yes every time I hit record I sit
0:55
down and I forget that I did it cuz it's like muscle memory at this point it's like they're on jabz I'm just like it's
1:00
like me driving home yes have you ever missed an exit cuz you're just like deep
1:05
thought I have a couple times oh no more recently than than
1:12
ever I'm getting Olden I'm getting old I don't know I'm like daydreaming about
1:17
stuff I don't know you need your gcoa I think I need a lot more than that
1:23
but yeah Fountain of Youth the the head trauma might be adding up no no I've had
1:29
a nice long layup it's probably all healed up yeah it's fine TR gone it's like erased yeah you know brain cells uh
1:35
regenerate after totally after amount of time they said it somewhere with mushrooms yes yeah Joe
1:43
Rogan said it so it must be true totally toally um Jess is leaving me for a few
1:51
days for her birthday weekend where you going I'm going to Tulum nice I'm going
1:58
to dive I'm going to hopefully hike a pyramid o yes I'm going to do everything
2:04
I can in four days nice are you going to which pyramid are you going to because we we got to go to that like real big
2:11
one with all the different spots when we went last year um I ju I think it's a
2:17
fertility pyramid yeah it's that one you better watch out I know I know mess around and
2:24
get fertilized over there in Mexico yeah there's two there and I for
2:29
out which one it is it's just I I have all of my notes on my phone somewhere okay that should be fun and what kind of
2:36
diving are you going to be doing um in not necessarily like ocean Dives but in
2:41
the cenotes there's some like really cool like uh Cave Dives yes um it's it's
2:48
going to be colder water temperature than I like I like to pretend that I am like a mermaid or a fish or like
2:55
something and I just am like so free but I think it's actually going to be really cold and dark in there but outside temperature is 80 and I think the water
3:01
is like 60 oh no which is very cold yeah the last dive I went to was CML and the
3:08
water was like 89 degrees it was amazing I like they were like you you're almost
3:13
out of air and I was like it's fine stay in a little bit longer they're like no like I'm like no it's good you're GNA
3:20
die like get out I'm fine I'm like but do I have to go on the boat so it just
3:25
like stay out in the water it's so nice oh that's so fun have you watched The Little Mermaid yet the new one so many
3:32
times okay I've been traveling a lot and it like I put it on every flight oh nice
3:37
it makes me cry it's so nice I thought it was really corny but there was a part
3:43
that made me sad I forget which part I think it was H I can't remember but I I
3:49
thought it was kind of corny like the very end it's a Disney movie it is a Disney movie but I feel like our Disney
3:55
movies were a little more like hardcore back when we were kids back in our day
4:00
people died in Disney yeah they freaking did yeah um every movie I liked it more
4:06
than I thought I would cuz normally I'm like kind of a like I like the the first
4:11
one I don't like the remakes I never watch the remakes sequels are are rarely
4:16
as good as the first one right um and so like a remake always makes me a little
4:21
bit nervous and especially since it's like you know I'm I'm older they're not in like my age range so I'm like I can't
4:27
relate to this but I really really enjoyed it I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would because I'm a stickler
4:33
and I'm just like well that didn't happen in the first movie Yes this song was not in the first movie I hated the
4:39
new song what is it doing in here I hated the new songs I was not a fan but
4:45
when the old songs came on my childhood inner self just started fluttering I'm
4:52
just like yeah yeah no it was amazing I also watched it on a flight and it was
4:58
one of those flights where I wasn't next to anyone I knew so I found myself like watching it and like looking around like
5:05
somebody like did you see you remember same page nobody nobody was looking at
5:10
me back so I kind of felt alone but I feel like that's what everyone else went through Who Loved The Little Mermaid
5:17
because that was one of my movies like my Mom hated The Little Mermaid because I always wanted to watch it when I was a
5:24
kid yes and I mean it's very sentimental to me because that's the song that we
5:29
saying it is on The Ultimate Fighter house yeah the whole that's when I knew
5:34
I was like I really like this girl yay whole new world that's Aladdin oh no it
5:40
was the the thing look at this stuff isn't this neat I I felt like that was a whole new world but it's actually um
5:47
wrong movie what what what's the name of that song what did you say our collections
5:54
complete wouldn't you think I'm the girl the girl who has everything
6:00
actually what's the name of the song though I actually I freaking don't know yeah I know all the lyrics I yes oh uh
6:09
part of this world or maybe that's not the name of the song but that's the chorus part of your
6:16
world and what would I give why didn't we sing that at karaoke I don't know you
6:21
know what my birthday's coming up so okay I feel like I'm up for another karaoke night we got to go back to that
6:27
place yeah I I want my own shot Ferris wheel oh man so we went to this place it
6:33
was like this little dive bar and in National City which is just 10 minutes
6:38
away from where I live and it was so good the karaoke was like a good
6:44
combination of good and bad where everyone felt comfortable singing because of that yeah there was um the
6:52
customary like uh bar fight oh there were pool tables there was like a really
7:00
uh you know VJ or DJ doing the karaoke stuff that black dude dude I loved it it
7:08
was the most black people I've ever seen in San Diego in one spot come to think of it
7:13
yeah yeah you're right it was yeah it was it was pretty cool I was really
7:19
excited about that because you don't see black people in San Diego so definitely
7:24
gonna be my goto from now on when I'm feeling homesick
7:29
no it was really fun that was it was fun we're going to go again we're going to go again and we're going to sing that song but speaking of remakes uh me and
7:36
Adam have been playing Resident Evil 2 the Remake and it is scary as [ __ ] it's
7:44
so scary when did it come out it came out like last year but remember the old
7:49
one that came out in like I think the 90s like the late 90s and that one was
7:55
so scary when it came out but now when you go back it's still kind of scary but but the graphics are really you know
8:01
90ish so they updated the graphics so it's like a new game basically but all the same like the same jump scares and
8:09
all the same parts and I barely remember it cuz I was so young when I played it like me and my brother stayed up all
8:14
night and played it after we rented it from Blockbuster so that's how that's how old it is we rented it from
8:20
Blockbuster for a weekend Oh I used to love Blockbuster on Friday night get some popcorn get some candy get some
8:28
videos you just spent the whole weekend just like you know living it up yeah
8:33
every kid my or every person my age that's into anime it's because of
8:38
Blockbuster because that just it didn't come on TV you went to Blockbuster you went to the weird anime section you saw
8:46
like tits on one of the one of the you know video cassette cases and you're
8:52
like yeah that should be fun just don't show that the back of it
8:58
who was was it like the only the only one that interested me was like e on flux ooh that was a good one that was a
9:05
saucy one that was a good one I really like that was a hot and steamy one yeah it was very Jess I could see you being
9:11
obsessed with it cuz a tiny waist yes yeah um so I guess we should talk about
9:18
fight we're nine minutes into this we haven't talked about a single fight but whatever yeah oh the one that like
9:25
really cracks me up when I think about it is I I must have been like 10 and my brother he's 5 years older than
9:32
me he's like hey Angela get Dad to get this video from Blockbuster and it was
9:37
this video it was this anime called crying fredman okay on the back it just
9:43
had like a huge titted naked chick getting like shot or something I forget
9:49
what happened but it was this uh it was about an assassin who had to get naked in order to kill people What yeah it was
9:57
really runchy and bad dad and because my dad didn't really pay attention to us we were able to rent it and watch the whole
10:04
thing over the weekend was it an accurate depiction of human anatomy when
10:09
he got naked and had to kill people no it was anime I just I'm just asking they
10:15
looked insane they were very chiseled maybe that's what got me into MMA because they had very much a chiseled
10:22
athletic MMA body okay yeah so maybe that's the step in stone to what I do
10:28
now and your weird porn fetish maybe I don't
10:35
know I'm G have to get at him on some steroids if that's my
10:40
fetish but we digressed let's let's talk about 297 okay yeah um what happened
10:48
that was super exciting for you for me I felt like the prelims were pretty entertaining I was kind of watching it
10:54
on my phone in between like uh uh waiting for my name to be called at that
10:59
little grappling tournament I went to we can talk about the grappling tournament too this world
11:04
champion stop I like how you just like so that one in there H you know the grappling tournament I won mhm gold
11:12
metal baby the one I got smashed up I got my head smashed open though I don't know you probably can't see it from here
11:18
maybe I'll go hey guys look at
11:25
it you nerd little war right there but you know no biggie it's actually the
11:32
first time I've ever got you see the other girl yeah she actually had she cried on her way home she had nothing on
11:38
her I was so mad the emotional scarring yes the emotional scarring yeah she's like I that'll last longer than that
11:44
little boo boo I can't believe I head butted her and that [ __ ] didn't work you know anytime um there's been
11:52
like a head on collision with me and a training partner my head has lost oh that was actually the first time I ever
11:58
had to get stitches is uh yeah my when it was at Kings MMA in Huntington Beach
12:05
like when I was still an Adam weight okay well that's probably why you were Adam weight
12:11
head it didn't get bigger honey well no but is there's less meat on
12:17
it it's like you know they say like children's heads are the same size once they like they don't grow that much
12:23
between like childhood and adult so between Adam weight and straw weight
12:28
your head has pretty much been the same size it's just there's more or less meat on it and the less meat the easier it is
12:35
to cut down to the bone yes head on collision with a Cambodian woman oh her
12:41
head was built for battle why do I feel like she had a really hard head just because did she because she did it was
12:49
the diet or something you know she did oh man was she bald by any chance no she
12:55
wasn't okay cuz that that's what I feel like was the deciding fact back to this time cuz I've never been cut I've been
13:01
headbutted a lot in like fights and training and stuff but the only time I ever got cut was when I kind of leaned
13:07
into a head kick that our buddy geston was throwing and he cut you up he cut me
13:13
it's the tiniest little cut though it was just tiny little it was a cute cut like it wasn't ugly this one was kind of
13:19
ugly but that one was kind of cute I like threw it overhand he was trying to kick me and then I kind of ate his knee
13:27
as I was throwing the overhand and he was so sad it was just like a little Tink because as soon as he saw
13:33
the head kick was going to land he pulled it and his knee kind of just like tapped me and cut it open um but uh that
13:42
was like nothing that was the only time I ever got cut and then today after 29
13:48
fights or on sa Saturday after 29 fights grappling tournament is what does it
13:53
gotcha got me right in the head the things that you least expect I know and I was so mad because uh she came up to
13:59
me she's like oh I'm so sorry I'm like oh no that's all good like this [ __ ] happens and I was like do you at least
14:05
have a bruise or something she's like yeah look it's swollen right here and I looked at it it was like it looked like
14:10
a vein there wasn't even it wasn't even a a lump or a Mark or anything you beat
14:17
her up and she's trying to make you feel better she was trying to make me feel I I I mean I was the one bleeding down my
14:26
face uh but to the point where in my next match it was like the final
14:31
deciding match and I actually got a sub in my final match so I was so proud cuz usually I just sit on people if I win
14:38
and get like points or whatever but I finally got a sub in my last match and I
14:44
cranked the sub so hard that the blood squirt out of my
14:49
gut that was already there so very anime of you it was very anime it was a very
14:56
dramatic finishing move just
15:01
so hopefully I didn't get anyone but it was it was pretty cool pretty cool feeling moment yeah good for you yeah so
15:09
we'll see since I'm bored and not fighting right now see how many tournaments I could do until I get a
15:15
call yeah but while I was doing that we had some crazy fights at 297 we did yeah
15:23
which was your favorite you know it's hard to say
15:29
because the ones that I saw real time were the prelims and there were a lot of
15:34
fun ones on the prelims so I I think the Jillian Robinson fight was my favorite
15:40
just because of how out of sorts poana Viana looked in
15:46
that fight like it looked like she went it out the second it hit the ground it was a really strange fight to me but
15:52
also you know it went on forever and I think both of the chick fights kind of went on a lot longer than I expected
16:00
them to it was really strange um but that one it was kind of funny because
16:05
every time Jillian Robertson got on top of her she VI would try to punch her from
16:14
Mount that is so frustrating like she and this is a Grappler this is a brown
16:20
belt she came into the UFC and everyone was like don't just stand with her don't
16:25
let her take you down don't go to the ground with her and she showed that you
16:31
can do whatever you want really to her if you're you know good enough like you
16:37
don't go by the boxes that people put you in because when I think back to it
16:42
I've never really seen her ground game in the UFC I've just always known that about her and it's funny how that kind
16:47
of happens like your stigma follows you people avoid certain areas but Jillian Robinson went right to that area and
16:54
dominated so I thought that was pretty impressive of her to just like kind of trust in her grappling and just go for
17:00
it but also uh it kind of showed how green VI was on the ground because she's
17:06
blocking punches and then she decides to throw her own punch which was giving up the armar constantly I'm not sure if
17:13
Jillian took it or not but it was just like a really she went for one armar I believe I think she did yeah but it was
17:19
just really frustrating to watch as someone who's just trained that position a lot and learned okay you're not that's
17:26
not going to get you out of the fight but part of me felt like she wanted out of the fight and that's why she did it I
17:31
mean potentially she could have like but I I will say that I I do agree I have
17:36
heard a lot that she's a good Grappler but I've never actually seen it she continuously ends up in these like
17:42
bottom open positions where she's just kind of waiting for somebody to either come into her guard she's not really
17:48
trying to get up and I see that a lot in her she's either striking and doing well
17:54
or she's in kind of compromised situations I mean I saw I saw There Was You Know fight in her and she was trying
18:01
to survive but it just looked like uh Jillian was just very tenacious and was
18:06
was breaking her down really well yeah yeah no it was a good it was a really good showing from Jillian like good on
18:12
her um but uh I think we didn't realize just how green VI was on the ground
18:18
until that moment because we've seen uh people with less experience make better decisions there um trying to fight the
18:25
knees trying to get a hook in trying to could do anything but give up an arm by
18:31
trying to punch him in the face because that punch isn't G to do anything yeah that's a white belt that's a white belt
18:37
frustration move like when you don't know exactly what to do so you just react you just do that um yeah it's just
18:45
it's definitely something to work on yeah and I again I wouldn't be bringing it up if she hadn't done it
18:52
twice three times two different rounds she did it um
18:58
but I have to say my favorite fight was the nil magn fight oh my gosh my brother
19:06
my big little bro he did so good at coming back so well like it it it looked
19:13
Grim it looked pretty Grim for a little bit no it really did and the commentary
19:18
team was just really hyping his his opponent um uh Mallet mhm yeah because
19:27
he's you know an up andc he's never gone a decision and everybody's just talking about this and they were highlighting
19:33
that Neil magley Neil Magny has the most decision wins in the UFC like he has
19:39
that record but it's also the most wins in that division which is really impressive and people were sleeping on
19:45
Magny he's he's a vet and I think people only remember your last performance you're only as good as your last
19:51
performance and it's very frustrating because sometimes people are not
19:56
understanding like or or being given all of the information Neil Magny took the fight against uh Ian Gary on like a week
20:05
notice yes and and he didn't have a great showing but he stepped up he stepped in there he got beat yeah he
20:11
didn't get finished though which is what Ian Gary does to most people yeah and so that's like the only thing that people
20:17
see and what we what we fail to remember is Neil Magny is a a pro he's a gamer he's he's a vet he finds ways to win and
20:25
that is what he did that night very impressively he was fighting it out to the very end mhm mhm and it was so
20:32
impressive because we have in Mallet we have this you know young upcomer guy
20:37
who's talking about like oh I you know never goes a decision I'm going to finish him I'm going to finish him and he chased that finish to the point where
20:43
he he basically just did himself in yeah and that's when Magny capitalized yeah
20:49
it's uh it might have been a big lesson for him because if the Finish isn't
20:55
there you don't have to squeeze for dear life you don't have to chase it that hard you can just ride someone it's a
21:02
winning position you're scoring there yeah you don't have to gas yourself out in those positions and I think that's kind of what happened he got to those
21:09
finishing positions and might have felt the pressure of being in his hometown being or being in his home country being
21:16
uh having said all that [ __ ] talk kind of in the beginning of the fight that puts pressure on people too so much
21:22
which is why I commend people who are able to like talk to talk and walk to Walk
21:28
it's so hard to continue to just like walk the walk when things aren't going
21:35
your way after you built it up in a way where you're kind of the bad guy you know or you're kind of the cocky one or
21:41
the the overly confident one so I do commend people for doing that but I think that put a little bit of stress on
21:48
him when Magny wasn't getting finished and he might have tried just a little bit too hard for that finish and people
21:54
always say we talked to um lone Murphy the other day day and he was saying
21:59
every time he tries to chase that finish it doesn't happen and that's kind of what I think he was doing he was chasing that finish Gass himself out got anxious
22:07
because he wasn't getting it and noil Magny was able to be all sneaky and
22:13
veterany and just slip out and felt the energy shift and took advantage of him
22:19
yeah and I understand the the desire and the push to be that heel to like be the
22:25
talker because you know squeaky wheel gets the oil yeah um you know you want
22:31
you know he was um right before the Cain he's a young upic upand cominging
22:36
fighter and people really just want that that spot people really want to be at the top and I understand it but there's
22:43
you know there's a process like you'll you'll get there you don't have to put so much pressure on yourself um because
22:48
it is really challenging to deliver every single time right yeah yeah I
22:54
think a lot of young Fighters get caught up on being the the youngest or getting there as fast as possible or just I
23:02
don't know just being so excited about the possibility of title that they just want to rush to the finish line and uh
23:11
it's a it's a marathon not a Sprint you know like the people who stick around the longest are the ones who end up
23:16
making the most money the ones who end up taking care of no matter what happens win or lose whether they get a
23:22
championship or not like they're the ones who are going to retire and not be
23:28
uh just down and out so just enjoy the ride and hopefully you get that goal but
23:33
you don't have to rush to it especially when you're younger like that small window too yeah and I mean it's it's
23:38
Cutthroat everybody wants you know to be in the UFC everybody's you know trying
23:44
to get there because it is it's the number one organization in the world it has all the exposure there's a potential
23:49
to make so much money and I know there's other potential in other organizations now however like it still you know UFC
23:56
is still the brass ring mhm and and there's time we do have a small window and if you're not if you're not smart if
24:03
you rush it too much if you put too much pressure If fights don't go your way you're out there and then you're trying
24:08
to get back in yeah it's kind of weird right it's like a small window but you have to stretch it yeah it's like you
24:14
have to slowly climb through the window like you're sneaking into someone's
24:20
house about to rob it yeah you don't want to burst in the front door yeah don't break the glass go around the back
24:27
the bathroom window just slide it open slowly so it doesn't Creek and then Ed in make sure you don't
24:35
knock anything over off the sill as you as you creep in there yeah and then
24:40
you're like surprise yeah I got through the small window and now I'm in here so it's like yeah I think when people hear
24:47
small window they're just like oh God I got to do it now I got to get there now but if you do it smart you can stretch
24:54
that time and use it in a good way and uh I think um someone like Neil Magny is
25:00
a perfect example of that yeah yeah so good job good job big little
25:05
bro so proud of you um did you have any like fights that
25:11
you were super excited about I was really excited about the jordane fight okay um I was really excited about him
25:17
he went up against Woodson and I thought it was an interesting matchup to give a Canadian in their Hometown because it
25:24
was a tall order I mean literally a literally
25:30
wow I sneak one in every once in a while thanks thanks for noticing but
25:38
anyways good job good job I didn't even plan it it just came out naturally it just like
25:44
rolled off the to Natural comedian so witty so quick um but it it was an
25:52
interesting matchup and I understand that they gave it to him probably because they thought that Woodson is a
25:58
striker and he won't have that like takedown defense but what he has is he has length and leverage and he really
26:04
used that cage very well to defend those takedowns and I again I was just
26:09
surprised because I thought they would give jordane like a matchup scrub not a
26:15
Scrub but just somebody on paper he could showcase against he could show
26:20
better because he is like he's you know a noted fighter he's you know a favorite
26:27
really he always puts on a great show and um he just he couldn't figure out the range
26:33
yeah and that's a common problem with this guy like he's he's really long and
26:39
crazy you know he he his build is so strange for that Division and he's able
26:45
to use it against everyone it's like it's like he has a light heavyweight frame he has a heavyweight frame he's
26:51
like uh fighting someone in Street Fighter that meanss Dome you know it's like this is a guy that
26:58
usually you can beat but when you get someone who's really good at using them it's the most annoying person to go up
27:06
against like the most annoying when they're able to use that range perfectly and use the uh timing and everything
27:12
really well then yeah it's really hard to beat um he does have a loss against
27:17
Julian Arosa it was a submission loss so maybe they thought like I don't know he can mix it up that way but it was a
27:24
split decision so somebody saw for him well somebody
27:30
accidentally I I feel like so I I was was it a HomeTown split yes
27:36
oh and when they were when they were going you know we were waiting for the scorecards I was like they could give it
27:42
to them and I was watching it with someone and they're like no way you can get it I was like that's a Canadian in Canada oh
27:49
yes they can yes they can if they can yeah they oh can a du H du oh my
28:01
God touche yeah we're both on the board I'm trying to catch up to you you're
28:06
over here dropping dropping little comedic nuggets um yeah I actually missed that
28:14
one so I can't even like attest to the split decision but I did hear there were a lot of weird decisions that night um
28:21
so that was probably one of the ones they were talking about but what did you think about the main event
28:28
because the main event I know everyone's kind I feel like it's kind of like
28:34
6040 and I do feel like I was swayed by the pre-fight
28:41
banter fair enough I feel like I was a very biased participant in the scoring
28:47
and if I was on that judge panel I'd remove myself because I wouldn't be able to take Strickland
28:55
seriously fair I I appreciate that I respect that and you know me like I was
29:00
all in for Strickland I was like until he said that might be my boy exactly you
29:06
know what I feel the same way about him like I want to root for him sometimes like I find myself like like go Underdog
29:13
go yeah and then he says what he says and I'm just like I can't I just like I was on your side
29:23
what are you doing can't do it anymore what are you doing stop playing with my emotions I like gosh darn it I love an
29:30
underdog but you are just really lifting your leg in the house it's a really
29:35
toxic relationship Strickland has with his fans isn't it and they just eat it
29:40
up I know eat it up it's it's so strange
29:46
but um after his little um press conference stent where he was like oh
29:52
women's MMA sucks no one wants to watch it and and I just own my kid if he was
29:58
gay and all this other stuff and I'm just like [ __ ] that guy like like I hope
30:04
dupes with his colonizing ass beat Strickland just so we can have
30:13
the Izzy to pluses fight and I don't have to think about someone hating on women's MMA when the co-main event is a
30:19
women's MMA Co co- Main Event like I just thought that was so rude um but we did get some insight with that with our
30:26
interview T you guys need to check it out because she really gives us some
30:32
like interesting little tidbits and her uh experiences yes with Strickland as a
30:38
teammate in I guess you could say a brother in arms you know she's known
30:43
them for a long time they have like a family is relationship where you can't pick them but they're
30:52
there can't Cho blood and sweat yes yes this is the family I I'm stuck with not
30:59
who I chose so that that did give me a little insight on that whole thing but at the time when I was watching I was
31:05
like I hope the places wins and then he did and I don't know if I was surprised
31:11
or relieved or just kind of like huh that was a lots of mixed emotions yeah
31:17
it was a strange one but it did feel very close it did and I can understand either
31:23
way I I really can um I I thought strick could have inched it out but I also
31:28
thought dupes is just his uh activity and you know his his big motions with
31:35
the takedowns with the punches yeah the blitzes um I thought that those were a little bit more
31:41
um uh they they stuck out more in people's minds than like a really nice job and and that's the thing with uh
31:49
good striking yeah a lot of times is subtle and if you don't know what to pick up on like most judges then you
31:56
don't see that a jab is the reason this guy's eye is Puffy it's not the big
32:03
looping punches it's that thing that goes straight down the center and comes back before you realize that it
32:08
connected um same with the push kicks but I think he did the most damage in the first round and then he kind of
32:14
started getting away from that until maybe the last round yeah uh dupet
32:20
really impressed me with uh his power output throughout the whole fight like
32:25
that guy is all power punches all the time yeah big movements big takeown movements uh big kicks just everything
32:33
is just big and it's it's impressive because he's um a big muscular guy and he always comes into shape and usually
32:39
muscle just kind of sucks the cardio out of you yeah if you don't train for it so it was it was very impressive yeah he
32:44
definitely had his cardio together he um I think he had a chip on his shoulder from the media kind of speculating that
32:51
he might not be able to go three rounds he had done one fight where he kind of gassed out and he like blamed on having
32:58
a nose surgery or something like his nose was broken and he couldn't really breathe get the oxygen in and I mean
33:05
it's a legitimate excuse like you know how many fights I fought
33:11
with a [ __ ] broken nose but does it affect your cardio it it it affects the training more than anything it it makes
33:18
training really really miserable and and I have fought like I've received a broken nose during a fight and and it
33:24
sucks yeah like it really it it's awful yeah um so I'm I'm not saying I'm not
33:30
saying either way but is he lying if no I'm not I'm not saying he's lying but um
33:37
he's saying he's lying I'm not I'm not I'm just saying like it it does suck
33:42
yeah is it a legitimate excuse to have bad cardio in a fight if it gets broken
33:49
in the fight I can understand completely how it can change the course because I have had that experience I've had a you
33:55
know the nose broken and then like blood gushing down the back of my throat and I'm like I'm drowning and I'm also being like
34:02
attacked yeah it's like you're getting water boarded right yeah no it's awful um but I I've also trained with like a
34:09
severely deviated septum and broken nose and you just you learn how to breathe through your mouth okay you know you
34:16
just look like a caveman yeah I yeah I'm no stranger to
34:22
Broken noses I've I've had several and I've had two surgeries in my career so it's yeah it's a thing it is um I do
34:30
think that his cardio looked on point this fight so whatever happened whether he had a chip on his shoulder whether he
34:37
like was actually affected his cardio was affected previously or not he fixed
34:42
that and looked sharp in this fight um out output wise I think uh Strickland
34:49
had more success in the fifth round though because he just got a little bit crazy he was being so tight and so like
34:58
crisp with his striking and because a lot of it wasn't getting a reaction out
35:05
of deassis I don't think the judges picked up on it and so towards the end of the
35:11
fifth like I I was kind of leaning towards the PES and the fifth but um most people thought that Strickland won
35:18
the fifth round and I think it's because he opened up I think it's cuz he got a little crazy got a little loopy with his
35:23
punches and then you could start seeing the's head move and you can see him reacting to the weight shifts and
35:30
everything like that so if they do rematch I think that's probably what you're going to see I think Strickland's
35:36
gonna uh open up a little bit more just just go a little bit more crazy and not
35:42
stick to this very strict like jab tep kick roll the punch keep jabbing kind of
35:48
style do you think that there would be an immediate rematch I don't think so I like it's all
35:54
up to Dana really I think I mean I think it was close enough where you could pot
36:00
You could argue that like oh it needs to be run back but I also think that they want other matchups I do I do I think
36:07
the feud that they can promote with adaga is way bigger like Strickland
36:14
basically Strickland and deesis basically squashed their Feud before the fight and it kind of took a little bit
36:20
of the heat off of it it took a little bit of the sizzle off of it I wasn't as excited when I saw them shaking hand
36:27
hugging out in the lob at the beginning of fight week I was like what am I what is no this is not what I got invested
36:34
for I want my soap opera damn straight right like I don't want to like see the
36:41
actor of the soap opera hanging out and laughing with the villain do not go off spr script no don't you you freaking
36:48
ride that out and then you hug it out afterwards see like pro wrestlers they know how to they know how to do it
36:54
whenever they're in public they're in care character actors they Daniel J
36:59
Lewis yes it's just always Jim Carrey yes always on you're always on you can't
37:07
go off character and that's what he did and it totally just took me out of it I was just like H disgusting I don't want
37:13
to see this my main event is Pennington versus Buena Silva
37:19
now can care less what these Bros do being friends and [ __ ] I want to watch
37:25
Friends fight no I want them to try and kill each other cuz they dislike each other so strongly yes I don't want them
37:32
to respect each other God no one of you call them the nword
37:40
please I don't think they have that card that would get me in the seat so I'd watch
37:46
it I'd watch that [ __ ] like knock him out the one that said the N word please
37:52
oh my God but uh we should talk about the
37:59
women's main uh event title shot title match what a surprise yeah I was pretty
38:07
surprised I was surprised and I I love Raquel Pennington yeah I I think she's such a hard worker and she's a veteran
38:14
and she's a great person and I'm just like and she's mad chill she's so cool the chillest she's super cool yeah the
38:21
chillest of them all but the the path that uh when Silva has been on
38:27
I I just thought like on paper I'm like ah she she's going to give her a really hard time she's just really tenacious
38:32
aggressive she has these sneaky chokes um but I mean you know not necessarily
38:39
slow but like steady and forward pressure and just uh Basics and and
38:47
great cardio just really broke uh bune Silva down and she you can tell she
38:52
prepared well like every time she started putting herself in the bad position she remembered the Reps that
38:59
she did to get out of that position like Buena Silva kept trying to go for that little Holly home choke she hit like
39:05
once you get that choke like people like catch on to it right away like because
39:10
it's it's not a common submission it's it's a little fancy it's a little you know
39:17
uncommon unorthodox like you don't see it all the time so now you're going to be looking for it all the time yeah yeah
39:24
it's actually the choke I got in my uh ADC tournament oh very nice but she was going she was
39:33
kind of reaching for it she wasn't allowing the head to get buried underneath her she was jumping for it
39:40
and you the person that you're attacking is already halfway out if you jump for it they'd have to be pretty I guess
39:48
unaware of this submission for you to still get that sub a after like set it
39:56
up that way and I think you know after you sub someone like Holly home with it
40:02
that's going to be the first thing you practice once you get that name like you're going to be in the gym working that like every day until the fight so I
40:09
think she was jumping for that she was really squeezing for Subs when she would get to the back it was really well done
40:17
but she fell in the same trap that uh mlet did where he got to a good position
40:22
he and she would just go like she would just squeeze so hard she would put all her energy into it and it wasn't in like
40:30
if the arm is over the chin it's really hard to finish that you got to make adjustments you have to make adjustments
40:36
you have to move the head you have to switch arms you have to do things that aren't going to burn your arms out cross
40:42
face yeah a little cross you never do to training Partners but you do it in a fight get that nose up get that nose up
40:48
or mess with that mess with that uh septum yeah or you could break the nose
40:53
first and then move it up it's going to move a lot pop it swipe it pop it swipe
40:59
it pass it uh yeah there she she was going
41:07
really hard I I think she kind of saw red there and I was watching the fight
41:13
and the first thing I thought was man this girl is really good but she's really
41:18
green yeah and I really hadn't gotten that from her up until this point yeah
41:23
until you put her in there with Rael Pennington yeah yeah and a lot of times
41:28
it's hard to see that especially when they get a win over a big name um because that's like they're coming out
41:35
party yeah people don't really see what you can do against a high level person
41:40
so once you see those tricks like the choke you can prepare for what they do
41:46
against highle people and that's a lot different from what they do against lower level people and up until that
41:53
point she hadn't fought someone as a comp someone who has fought as many you know
41:59
highlevel people highly ranked people as Holly Hol so I think um just the the
42:07
amount of fights that Rael Pennington's had the amount of fight camps the amount of positions that she understands she
42:14
understands how to stay out of trouble how to stay safe in a rear naked choke how to stay safe if someone has both
42:19
Hooks and you know like she she understood every bad position that she was in and she was able to score enough
42:25
to win all the rounds that she won great breakdown hey well I try I try
42:33
I've been in there a few times too once twice you know um but I do
42:39
think that Buena Silva comes back a much better fighter absolutely as long as she gets her head right I I do think the the
42:45
lights the bright lights the big uh opportunity got to her a bit and you can see her energy in the corner especially
42:52
when things weren't going her way she was exhausted she was screaming across
42:58
the cage when her coach is trying to explain to her what she needs to do like you can kind of tell that she checked
43:04
out a bit mentally yeah yeah I can see that too yeah so you'll be back you'll
43:11
be back Myra just keep going keep grinding well what we're about to do is uh check out of this
43:18
uh this little thing we have going on and we're about to check into our
