Nov 6, 2024
We've been in a holding pattern with no fights for weeks. But at least we have the uncertainty of what UFC 300 might consist of to deliberate on and Sean Strickland being more likeable than Du Plessis. We talk resolutions, the mental aspect of fight prep and Angela's weird last ever USADA visit. Happy New Year and as always go subscribe to UFC Fightpass where you can catch the exclusive last 15 minutes of this episode. Brought to you by Duelbits

and hello you
0:16
dick you weren't supposed to see that welcome back to another episode of two
0:23
stra did you press record um I did are you sure do you want to check it again
0:30
press record do you are you sure yes check it you you don't trust him I don't
0:36
know I don't trust you now after you just sabotaged me on on camera look at
0:41
her L uh what do you call it uh gussying up her lips like a
0:48
harpy well when a lady is single they Gussy up
0:53
their lips they do they do I haven't gussied up my lips in about 15 years and you're still married congrats
1:00
good for you he has low standards good for you that's what that's the
1:06
trick trick to Long marriage is marrying someone with very low standards and then
1:12
you can't disappoint them I will remember that yeah yeah there you go
1:18
want to every day hey well that's what I'm here to do I'm like a Love Guru
1:24
right no it's funny um every time we have an anniversary uh me and Adam my
1:30
husband's 15 year anniversary we really just got married because of like the
1:36
fact that he wasn't American like if he was from like Alabama or some [ __ ] then we wouldn't have gotten married so soon
1:42
but because he was from Scotland we got married pretty quickly and I was like we can get married as long as you pay for
1:49
the divorce when it doesn't work out did you write that on a napkin at a bar I did I did it's actually on a loose leaf
1:57
piece of paper you know the lines with the holes in it the paper with the lines and the holes I wrote down a prenup on
2:04
that smart girl hey your mom didn't raise a fool she didn't I knew I knew he
2:10
was after me for my money that I didn't have yet he saw he saw your potential and look at she now he did he's did
2:17
diamond in the rough diamond in the rough that's what
2:22
he sounded like back then but um but yeah and then we just ended up lasting a
2:27
long time just happened to like really like each other and it's funny because every time we have an anniversary people
2:33
are like oh congrats and I'm like this is something be proud of I
2:40
think it's a huge accomplishment I I I like the more I talk to like people who
2:45
have been a long-term relationships and like it didn't work out then the more I'm like okay we we definitely have
2:50
something really special but it's still kind of funny to be congratulated on it's like having a birthday after the
2:56
age of like 21 you're just like don't don't congratulate me on that yeah all
3:02
the cool stuff already happened yeah like I'm not really getting cool presents anymore I don't get birthday
3:08
parties with clowns like it's not fun to get older anymore so everything else is
3:13
just kind of like a dis birthday like oh congrats you're over the hill yeah oh congrats you're a senior citizen you can
3:21
get the early bird special oh congrats you're not dead yet good for
3:27
you it's always a slap in the face but um I I do I am happy that people are
3:34
stoked for us and yeah I think it's incredible yeah it's pretty cool so we just celebrated our 15 year we didn't do
3:41
anything special but we went to DC to visit some family um and then we came
3:48
back and it was new year so yeah that's pretty much uh my updated list of events since we last
3:56
checked in with uh back and our post post Christmas celebration post
4:02
Christmas well not celebration interview first well we were celebrating our first
4:07
interview of that's a c for celebration I was celebrating that after we hung
4:13
up Beck had already celebrated she's a champ she already celebrated the night
4:19
before and she is such a champ for showing she is so excited she was so excited to be our first guest that she
4:26
drank herself into a severe hangover yes she's like more Margaritas for two
4:31
straws and and she kept like laying these subtle hints like how bad she felt
4:36
I was like listen girl you're going to Rally right you you better get your [ __ ] together listen
4:44
honey should have called her and give her that pep talk the party pep talk I told her I was like listen you need to
4:50
have yourself another Margarita a as a a young um you know I started uh going to
4:57
like havu which we call the river oh I started going there when I was like 15 16 which we established was not a
5:05
river it was a lake it's a lake I think it has like a no no it's a lake um there might be a
5:14
Channel or two within the lake exactly that makes it a river yes believe it or
5:19
not there's also um something that they call London Bridge and people party and you know throw beads and get beads for
5:26
showing their boobies on London Bridge yes oh nice it's a very s phisticated Suare is there actually a bridge there
5:32
or is it just yeah yeah yeah yeah there's a bridge that's impressive it's
5:37
small but it's there it's technically a bridge nice but um I learned very young
5:43
that um hair the dog is the best way to carry hangover and I tried to encourage her as I do you and Adam every time
5:49
you're hung over complaining and griping uh the next day and wish we were
5:54
dead it happens really often I know and I tell you every time and they never do
6:00
it we're usually with you when we have a hangover you're just
6:06
like you're [ __ ] light beer yes your poni like I learned at a
6:13
very young age that that is the way to carry on it's the only thing that'll even you out it's true I it's worked
6:19
usually for me but then I feel bad trying to force Adam to do the same
6:25
thing he would rather just gpe and moan and complain yeah it's a Scottish thing think that's I think I think it's a
6:32
cultural kind of just Just Give Me A Reason yeah to Grape and complain you
6:38
know what I had some complaining to do before I was hung over and now was a great time to do it I've been saving up
6:45
yeah exactly I wrote them down let me tell you the ways that I'm
6:51
unhappy I don't want to hear your Solutions no I only want problems yes
6:57
just listen to my problems don't get me Solutions so it it does help it does
7:02
help and uh Beck did not have any of the hair of the dog before we talked to her
7:08
but she manned up and I am really happy that her son was there because he put
7:15
her together like he was like Mom listen you got to put this on put these shades on put this shirt on she was just gonna
7:22
show up in a ones I feel like she was going to show up in straight pajamas but she was like uh co uh dressed for like
7:31
Zoom meetings so like everything from the top looked in order um the only thing that they was um an oversight was
7:38
the the camera angle it was a little bit low so you could see her pajama bottoms yeah I loved it I loved the little her
7:44
little butt cheeks little butt cheeks and they're sassy little things you know so cute
7:50
they are yeah little Sach shorts they remind me of like Muay Thai shorts when they roll them up oh yeah exactly what
7:57
they were same yeah yeah I liked it so make sure to check that out it's on our
8:02
YouTube page uh and our um uh what's it called and our fight past the interview
8:09
with back oh yes yes make sure to check that out good plug yes go look at it and
8:15
then next week we have another fun guest we are rolling with the guest thanks to
8:20
Jessica Penny hooking it up making all the connections networker official yes
8:27
yes I mean those are the only two I have so you're you're up next oh God I'm just kidding I have a list okay cool a list
8:33
yeah give me some time I have to build up the confidence yeah iist Callin in call in
8:39
on all favors but tell them who's up next week uh Lorenzo hunt um badass
8:46
bkfc bare knuckle man himself the Juggernaut yeah champ champ yes coming
8:52
on two straws yeah I'm so excited I can't wait to ask him about the Tomato thing oh he's got a story I've heard
8:58
this story I'm really excited about it he's a great Storyteller he has great personality very well spoken um and and
9:05
just a really gentle human being for being such a Savage yes it was very
9:10
shocking to me a I feel like that's a common trait amongst people who just
9:16
seem unreal when you meet them in they're I guess when they're not in
9:22
fight mode they're very gentle yes like like the most Savage person that I've
9:27
trained with consistently is probably jemy Stevens oh my God and he is the most gentle soul the most
9:35
motivational uh just get behind you 100% super loyal
9:42
person that I've ever met he is like the person you want in the gym during fight
9:48
Camp he's the person you want in your corner yeah he's the person you want at like any family event he is like he's
9:56
he's like team captain he is I would have him at my baby shower just like
10:01
leading all the games I'd had I'd have him there while I was giv birth so he could coach me through
10:08
it and then when the baby popped out he'd grab it so gently but securely he
10:13
would never drop it keep it so safe pull it out not in a creepy
10:20
way no he's just he's just one of those solid standup dudes he is it was I think I've said this before to you or at some
10:27
point but it was really nice being in Salt Lake City cornering back and then
10:33
he was also fighting on the same card making his bar kna boxing debut which he killed it one by
10:39
TKO yes yeah yeah TKO by TKO yeah he cut the guy yes um and it was just so nice
10:46
he rented an Airbnb so we were over there every single day and it just felt so nice to have the band back together yeah love it it was like a really good
10:53
feeling that I haven't felt in a very long time you know it was just really nice having everybody there we're all
10:59
kind of family like all of the alliance MMA vagabonds yeah yeah can't stay away
11:05
from each other too long always find our way back yeah it pretty awesome yeah so that
11:10
that's uh it's not surprising but it's nice to hear that juggernaut's kind of like that I'm I'm really excited to talk
11:17
to him for the first time because I've had him saved in my PO pre-fight
11:22
motivational highlights for a long time just his Knockouts his his demeanor
11:28
going into the into the ring just uh the not give a fuckness that he has like
11:34
that's the type of thing that I would love the channel and just Embrace going into a fight and he's able to do that
11:41
every time he steps up there it's really cool yeah I yeah I'm really excited to be there um
11:49
I I am lucky enough to be able to uh be in Miami for that card or it's not in Miami it's in South Florida there go oh
11:56
okay um so it's in South Florida so um close yeah same thing but different
12:01
Miami is in the south of Florida yeah I mean it counts uh but I'm really excited to be there live for that fight um it'll
12:08
be the first time that I've been at a that I will be at a bare knuckle boxing fight where I'm not cornering okay and I
12:15
just get to go watch and support I'm a little bit nervous because there there is some intense
12:22
energy in there and it's not like MMA energy like if you've been to an MMA event there's um it's like it's a really
12:30
awesome heightened energy and it is really cool to be inside of the Arena
12:35
during that but it's kind of different in in baring boxing and I don't think it necessarily translates through the TV is
12:41
it similar to boxing or no it's just different there's like this um because
12:46
you I feel like I'm just aware of the brutality of it yeah and you can hear
12:52
the sounds and they're different than MMA sounds they're really different um and there's and crunches yeah and
12:59
splashes and um it's it's absolutely brutal I again I've said this before and
13:04
I have no desire to ever do it but I I respect it I admire the athletes that do it I feel like uh if you're doing baroa
13:11
boxing like you're built differently so I'm I'm really I'm excited to see it
13:17
just as a spectator so what are you going to wear um probably something black oh cute yeah hopefully I'll be out
13:25
of my boots so I can wear somewhat cute shoes instead of my freaking hocas uh
13:31
with uh really hard inserts so I don't reinjure myself again oh my God please
13:36
stay away from your stripper Hills that you usually wear when you go out like those things I feel I've I've borrowed
13:44
them I have worn shoes that are similar and I swear to God every time I'm
13:49
wearing them I feel like I'm just staring down at a cliff that I'm going to eventually fall off you know I feel
13:55
like um you know I'm going to have to do physical therapy I started physical therapy for my foot you know just
14:01
getting some stuff because my my Arch is really tight my foot has lost some Mobility uh my calf is atrophied like
14:08
all all sorts of things I've been able to keep pretty strong and lift but there are just certain things that I uh muscles that have not been able to you
14:15
know trigger yeah without the MMA stuff yeah so I feel like I'm going to have to go through some solid Physical Therapy
14:23
um to wear girl shoes again oh put seriously you're back to the bottom like
14:28
the rest of us like the rest of us female fighters who can't walk in Hills little little baby giraffes baby deers
14:35
so cute it's like the drunk girls in Las Vegas you ever see them like walking there's um there's a video on
14:40
YouTube uh it's absolutely hilarious I'm sure it's circulated onto Instagram by now but there's a song the walk a shame
14:48
kind of no it's like a drunk girl walking they made a song about this I have to find it and I have to post it on
14:54
my story but it's hilarious because it just shows all the different types of drunk girls in Vegas there's like the girls that don't know how to walk in
15:02
heels there's the girl that hold their heels cuz they're too drunk there's the girl crying on the corner cuz you know
15:07
something happened at the club yeah uh there's all sorts of like different versions of these like girls in vegas
15:12
these drunk girl walking and it's a really funny video I love it I'm definitely the first too like I'll
15:19
wobble until I give up and I'm okay with that I'm okay walking around I will wear
15:25
those shoes I'm not taking them off I'm conditioned to be barefoot in public so
15:31
I I am conditioned to wear heels through the pain through the pain I I actually I
15:38
wore some really fancy heels that I bought in in France because I'm so fancy you're so fancy I'm so fancy god I went
15:45
to UFC Paris last year and I wore heels in France and no one told me when I
15:52
bought those heels that everything is Cobblestone [ __ ]
15:57
dude I can imagine I almost died my little little footsies were so tired my
16:05
big toe was screaming at me because it was getting bent backwards in a way that it doesn't like to get bent like I can
16:11
barely shoot on that thing and here I am we're in these tall ass Hills it's bent like at full um full
16:19
full 90 yes it's it's not supposed to been that far and then we have the
16:24
cobblestone on top so it's like every step is a bosu ball
16:30
So eventually Adam ended up carrying meat which I thought was super romantic oh my goodness so such a shiverers man I
16:38
need one of thems carry me around I know but it was embarrassing because we had to take a uber and our hotel was less
16:46
than5 miles away I've been there though I I've been there I'm like listen I really want to look cute I'm going to
16:52
take a lot of pictures but we're driving yes there there will be no walking the
16:57
only walking that will be done is from the car to the table then the table to the car yeah I should have stuck to
17:03
those rules because I was really like no let's walk back to the hotel and then about halfway there I tapped out it was
17:11
too much did you have a sit on the curb no I just hung out on top of it see
17:17
usually so this is my thing um I'll usually find something to lean on and then I'll like go up on my heels to like
17:24
you know alleviate some of that no that works yeah yeah I have a good technique
17:30
for that too yeah but then there's no walking after that after that my toes are pretty much
17:36
given up and they're like I hate you yeah I I worry if I'm ever going to be able to wear heels again you will I have
17:42
some nice heels man no you will I believe in the conditioning that you've put in for years yeah I I feel like
17:49
that's going to override the atrophy that you've faced for less than a year yeah I wish I could say the same for my
17:55
cardio cuz that shit's gone I don't know if that's done I don't know if it's ever coming back either it'll come back it'll
18:01
come back either that or you'll learn to fight lazy which is definitely a skill that you learn as a veteran to keep up
18:08
with the kids and it works a lot of times I mean I can do that in Jiu-Jitsu all day yeah I don't know how to do it in MMA no I I think you'll figure it out
18:16
I can help you out because I've been fighting kind of lazy lately it works for me on days that I don't feel like
18:21
doing [ __ ] but I still have to be a good training partner I'm like oh this is
18:27
easy this is yeah I I'll I'll give you all the hints
18:32
thank you um so speaking of MMA fights we we don't have anything booked yet but
18:40
everyone is excited about the first week of MMA that is coming next week oh yes
18:47
it seems like it's been so long we're so spoiled what four weeks since our last
18:53
MMA fight I feel like it hasn't been that long but it feels that long has it been four weeks already or has it only been three
18:59
um I'm going to do the math right now so January 13th a day before my birthday oh
19:04
my goodness is the next fight so that'll be one week two week three week yeah it's been four
19:12
weeks damn it's been four weeks since we had MMA we are [Music]
19:18
feing maybe that's why it was itching earlier yeah oh we need a like what are
19:23
you talking about I'm fine I need to see blood Bloodshed you know what I I miss
19:28
it you know what I miss most I miss punching people I miss making them yeah
19:36
it's like I I [ __ ] miss it it's such a fun feeling to feel someone give up in your hands oh it's amazing I can't
19:45
wait don't worry you'll be there soon you'll be there soon enough I'm GNA I'm going to start with some like uh some
19:51
noobs yeah there you go just go go pick on be careful though they might like accidentally break your foot trying to
19:57
defend it I'm I'm not kidding you I I've gotten like some serious injuries from
20:03
like white belts blue belts cuz they're like super enthusiastic cuz they like know some stuff and they're not like
20:08
white belts anymore yeah they're like I'm G to try this flying armar it's like no you're just dude I I in the head a
20:15
new blue belt Chi my freaking tooth oh no I remember um we always talk about
20:22
the female nutshot and I am a firm believer of the fact that the female nutshot is nowhere as debilitating and
20:30
shouldn't be a foul um compared to the m nutshot but there was one
20:37
time there was one time I needed a second and I was training with the girl I've been training for like maybe five
20:43
six years in Muay Tha and I was training with this girl and she I was trying to
20:49
show her how to throw a knee and clinch and I was like okay we got the over under and now you're just going to bring
20:55
that knee up and she went du right right up in the lady business
21:01
right in the part that's never been hit no one's hit that part like what in
21:07
the world oh and I feel like I needed a second just so I didn't hurt her yeah
21:13
yeah I feel that but it was it it was definitely one of those moments where you realize like man someone with less
21:19
experience can hurt you more than someone with more exp sure can yeah they don't move normally it's unpredictable
21:27
yeah it really is I've I've had I've had people you know roll the wrong way and
21:32
like kick me or like actually like bring me into the ground in a weird way it's
21:38
just why am I seeing Stars right now just it's just weird it's weird once
21:44
I had a um injury that I was trying to protect uh I had messed up my ankle so I
21:49
was trying to protect it so I would just play guard and this [ __ ] he gets
21:55
into my guard full guard I have him in between my legs and he just rolls over out of nowhere and puts me in Mount like
22:02
I'm mounted on him and my [ __ ] up ankle is just broken even more and I'm
22:10
just like ah get off of me and it's just the most unpredictable stuff happens when you're rolling with
22:16
people with less experience like no one in a competition would roll over from
22:21
guard and let you mount them so it's just one of those things that you have to be aware of when you're rolling with
22:28
people who are kind of new and also when you're protecting an injury so be careful with them beat them up but
22:36
choose them wisely no I'm I've um I I've gotten so
22:42
many like injuries over the years that I'm I'm pretty strict with who I train with like there it's it's very much
22:48
trust trust based and it's not like I'm not going to get hurt but I just need to know that the person is technically
22:53
sound enough I know their their temperature as a human
22:59
that there's a lot of trust involved when I pick a training partner yeah good that's just how it has to be and guys if
23:05
you're starting to train or if you are getting back into it you used to train
23:11
just Heed These words like be careful who you train with think about size think about experience think about like
23:18
how many people has that person injured in the gym and be picky like you you have the right to be picky no one's
23:24
going to bully you into training with someone if you don't want to so so just be safe out there I know everyone has
23:31
their uh New Year's resolutions right now to get back at it so this is probably the biggest
23:38
injury time of the year I know I know it it like uh starts going up and then like
23:44
right around March I feel like it just plummets yeah yeah for our old gym my
23:50
old Muay Thai gym it would be like mid-February but like as soon as you hit that January Mark and you're like okay I
23:56
did it I'm I'm good I don't think I need another
24:04
month enough of that yeah oh do you have any resolutions this year no no no I'm
24:10
just trying to get healed that's a resolution yeah you're like shut up shut
24:16
up um uh I definitely I who was I just talking to um I want I
24:24
want to travel to like Italy and Paris o yeah it's they're my bucket list um
24:30
discover your roots yes are you like French and Italian
24:35
um so I am from northern Italian or
24:40
Northern Italy northern northern Italian um my my family is from Northern Italy
24:47
and so it's close enough to France where I feel like we may have some crossover okay you know just um the people up in
24:54
that area are like um fair skin they have um like very specific bone structure hair colors and all that kind
25:00
of stuff so I feel like there is some kind of French ancestry in there yeah you have a French face oh do I yeah I
25:07
guess you have a long cigarette one those big hats just judging
25:15
me stupid American you know I guess see you saying that yeah but I'm I'm excited
25:23
there's um my um I have family members who have gone to the the village where
25:29
my family's from in Northern Italy and like seeing our our names up there like you know one of the founding families up
25:35
there so it would be pretty cool that'd be awesome but that's a a goal I don't know if that's a resolution but it's definitely what I want to do by the end
25:43
of next year oh do it this year yeah do it yeah don't get stopped by anything I
25:50
don't think I will like there's a better way to say that but I get what you're saying yeah
25:56
yeah do it that's awesome um I think for me um I've been focusing a lot on like
26:03
the mental side of stuff um which you which you've been doing for a long time
26:10
it's the only thing that I've been able to do yeah and by God it helps I I think it's
26:17
a really important part that a lot of Fighters don't Embrace until maybe it's too late so I've been getting into that
26:24
and uh I think that's where most of my resolution solutions kind of reside is really doing the brain training and
26:31
making sure that I'm doing all the work that you have to do when it comes to
26:37
being in the moment and entering that flow State and just being kind of Zen with yourself and where you've where
26:43
you've uh gotten to and like where you are right now and so that part has been
26:51
uh I guess maybe the hardest part of last year is just getting started with
26:56
that but now I feel like I have a good flow so just continuing that and continuing to push the boundaries to get
27:02
it even more Zen and meditate longer and and uh don't skip days of my journal and
27:09
stuff like that that's going to help me get to that next level with the brain stuff because challenge it's you have to
27:16
develop new habits I mean um you know how many years have you been doing a certain thing a certain way it it takes
27:23
you know even more time to create new healthy habits my my biggest challenge has been positive selft talk and like
27:31
really interrupting those those negative unnecessary unproductive like internal
27:37
conversations that's been the hardest thing for me had a lot of practice a lot
27:42
of practice tearing myself down insane and it's like people people get on the
27:47
internet and they think they can be harsh towards us but it's like no we're
27:52
our worst enemies like we are our worst internet trolls oh yeah we have a direct line to
27:59
the brain so anytime you mess up a technique anytime you mess up in training or in competition that negative
28:08
talk has a really big opening to jump in there and just just burrow down and stay
28:14
there for a long time and so yeah that that's been a big one for me too with the brain training is just taking away
28:20
that negative top talk spining it and using whatever criticism I have of
28:26
myself in a positive way instead of just saying [ __ ] you suck you know and and
28:31
it's it's so uh it's it feels so simple once you start doing it but it really is
28:37
a thing that you have to stay consistent with because it's so easy for that negative talk to creep in even when
28:43
you've had a good streak of being super positive uh thinking of yourself in a
28:49
positive light and being fair with yourself you know a lot of times we're really unfair and judgmental towards
28:56
oursel and um I know we try to put on our brave face in front of fans and in
29:01
front of uh you know the media and stuff but we're all just human and we're all
29:07
very critical it's it's such um we put ourselves in such a a vulnerable state
29:13
like you know putting ourselves out there in a cage in front of fans and I
29:18
mean we're we're putting ourselves out there in the the most vulnerable way we
29:24
possibly can so it's um yeah no matter how how trained I think Fighters are
29:30
like some of that stuff still gets through some of that stuff still affects because it reinforces a story that we
29:36
are already thinking because again we're our own we're Our Own Worst critics and so if we think it and then somebody says
29:42
something it just like affirms that story yeah and it's it's really it's a
29:47
vicious cycle it's really hard to get out of but it's um it's where that practice comes from it's where you know
29:53
it's important to have that um that good strong support that Circle around us that um that keeps us strong
30:00
and keeps us you know Keeps Us positive because it it is challenging it's a it's
30:06
a very brutal and forgiving Sport and you can be you know up at the
30:11
top and way back down at the bottom within one fight yeah you could be Alexander vinoski greatest fighter in
30:18
the world pound-for-pound number one at some point last year I think he still is
30:24
I think he's maybe maybe John Jones is up but you can be volkanovski and still
30:30
have this negative talk still have this uh issue with um just the mental side
30:38
and not being able to handle not having something on the docket not feeling like
30:43
you're going towards the next goal not feeling comfortable in your skin at that
30:49
moment and it's really it's it's a really uncomfortable feeling um so it
30:54
doesn't matter whether you've hit all all your goals that you wanted or whether you've failed some whether
31:00
you're working your way up to the top it's it's just this thing that's consistent and if we don't focus on it
31:06
then you're never going to get over that hump and that's something I had to learn
31:12
last year after 28 fights in the
31:17
UFC so hopefully I can convince somebody who just gets is just getting started
31:23
out to start focusing on that side as well and um you'll be even more prepared once you get to the Big Show if you ever
31:29
do I mean it's important to focus on even if you're not a fighter yeah I mean everyday conversations I mean even if
31:36
you you know have have a death job even if you you know what whatever your job
31:41
may be those kinds of intrusive um unproductive conversations can can chime
31:47
in and they can really throw a person off and uh throw them off course so I think it's just important practice being
31:54
kinder to yourself kinder to other people and you know that sort of thing I think attracts that good energy give it
32:01
out receive it and uh just keep going with it yeah I think that's why I like the holidays because people are a little
32:07
more open to being kind I feel like depending except for if you go to the mall yeah depending I've seen some [ __ ]
32:14
at the mall yeah like stay away from Black Friday and stay away from like
32:20
Boxing Day deals and stuff like that Christmas
32:26
Eve home during December stay home as soon as thanksgiving's over just stay
32:33
home but I do feel like certain places you go like if you're walking around the park or if you're at the grocery store
32:40
and it's not crowded then people are a little more nice a little more friendly
32:46
and I wish people would just like that all year round because it like you need that like I don't know it it's like I
32:53
got kind of mushy over the holidays too because I saw some family but I was like I got to appreciate what I got
33:01
absolutely cuz you don't know how long you'll have it yeah I think it's absolutely important to focus on
33:07
gratitude yeah but anyway Let's uh moving on to something a little lighter yes uh these fights coming up on January
33:15
13th we have some like is like it's not really making a huge deal but anle
33:22
versus Johnny Walker I mean that's definitely a title contention yeah for sure um Johnny
33:29
Walker is such a fun guy and I love watching him fight I love that in his
33:36
last fight he did like the little joke thing where well not his La well yeah
33:41
yeah was it his last fight where he did the little joke thing and uh yeah it was
33:46
uh versus Uncle the he pretended to get hurt and he threw the jump knee yes that
33:53
was so funny to me but then you know they kind of messed it up
33:58
they kind of ruined that whole moment but I'm loving that this fight get rebooked um it's going to be happening
34:05
on January 13th the day after my birthday and yeah it seems like a good
34:10
opening fight to the 2024 UFC year yeah and then next up after
34:19
that we have the much anticipated Strickland versus duplicit yes and um I
34:26
hope hope that their second fight is as entertaining and exciting as their first
34:32
one their Co yes at 296 yes they stole the show they did I don't even remember
34:39
what happened on that fight I don't remember either who fought I don't know I think it was some fly
34:46
weights somebody won nobody cares a f things it's hard to compete with a fight
34:52
in the audience first of all but then when you're a flyweight in the fight in the audience audience is the middleweight champion then yeah yeah
35:00
that's hard to sorry no views sorry yeah but uh I'm happy this fight is actually
35:06
happening and I am actually a lot more into this fight now I know it's lame
35:13
that they did the whole fight in the audience thing to Hype it but Hook Line
35:19
and Sinker they got me I'm in I'm in I was not emotionally attached to the
35:25
outcome of this fight whatsoever but I am or invested I am invested yes yeah
35:31
who are you invested in do you have a dog Strickland they God I am having a
35:38
really hard time with this however he's just such an underdog I'm just ah I'm rooting for him he burrowed his
35:46
way into every woman's brain because he is a bastard when it comes to
35:51
feminism y he is the worst he stands for anti-woman 's rights he he would
35:59
campaign for female suffrage isn't that like the thing yeah he wants some back
36:04
at home Barefoot in the kitchen yeah um but for whatever reason I'm rooting for
36:11
him over theis um I don't know I'm still I'm still is it weird that he's more
36:17
likable than dupes no because dupes like acts like a robot it's hard to very like
36:24
South African in the way that's un aable I think where you're just kind of
36:30
walking around unaware that like a partti happened like
36:36
like I'm African too like I I feel like the the it's just a
36:43
little offputting yeah little bit he can't read the room in a good way and I think Strickland is
36:50
a really good person at reading the room picking on the people that he needs to to get a rise out of people but also
36:55
still seeing I mean uh charismatic I appreciate
37:03
his and whatever form it comes out of his mouth but I appreciate just his like
37:08
honesty yes I appreciate his uh he is very genuinely authentically him all the
37:15
time and I I mean whether I agree or disagree I can respect and appreciate it
37:21
yeah I think if he was talking to me you some random bum on the street uh Dana
37:27
White he would say the same thing to all of us if if no if it was just a singular
37:34
conversation he would say the same exact thing to all of us like he doesn't uh
37:39
change his speech depending on who he's talking to he's just kind of like I wear it on my sleeve I tell it like it is in
37:46
in a real sense not in a way that's trying to I don't know get people on his side and pretend
37:54
that he's like that I don't know it is there is like a lot to
38:00
um a lot to enjoy about his cander and the way that he's able to uh talk his
38:08
way into these situations and and just be himself and people don't hate him for
38:13
it you know like there's something to be said about that so I'm excited for this
38:18
fight that I didn't think I was going to be excited for I think they did a great job of just the poking and prodding of
38:25
each other and in the audience fight I love that the fact that he moved um
38:31
Gilbert Burns's kids out of the way before he fought this guy like it shows
38:36
you there's a heart in this in this man this man that is just like ah I hate
38:42
this and that there's a heart inside of him he has Common Sense he's not a dick he's not going to uh endanger the lives
38:49
of Innocents just for um a media thing like just for some play on on
38:57
on uh MMA Media or whatever Ty type the fight so I I'm I'm digging it and I'm
39:03
excited to see who wins and I too am rooting for Strickland Believe It or Not nope if uh
39:12
my new favorite fighter as Jess
39:17
says stop it oh my God he also um he just was on the theovon podcast and he
39:25
got really vulnerable and I also really appreciated that I heard about that so are are is anyone
39:32
giving him a little bit of [ __ ] for that um for getting vulnerable I know some
39:38
people are like trying to call him Hypocrites yeah I think that's what polius was was coming oh with yeah what
39:46
did he say I I think he said just that oh that um no he it doesn't change his
39:52
opinion on him it's just um that he's a hypocrite in blah blah blah uh yeah cuz
39:58
he probably went on he was probably explaining the thing that dcy said didn't he uh say in a press conference
40:04
oh you got touched when you were a kid I think there was something like that yeah yeah and shiken was like that's all you
40:11
come up with again not reading a
40:16
room come on man do better you're making your country look bad come
40:22
on yeah I mean that and that was on the same that was in the same time frame as
40:27
we had uh Mr Mr chaos Kobe Covington talking about oh man yeah talking about
40:35
dead parents come on yeah that I like I hate that and again we're out there we
40:41
know that you can throw anything at us and we're going to have to take a with
40:47
stride because it's not like there's a law against it but at the same time it's not just the fighter that you have to
40:53
deal with but it's the fan base people are are not going to get behind you if you're talking about someone's dead Dad
41:00
it's hard that's a hard sell It's A Hard Sell I think if any kby fans were on the fence about whether they still lik them
41:07
or not that might have pushed them off especially if they have a dead dad which
41:12
a lot of people have dead dads this it's not uncommon it's not uncommon for your
41:18
dad to be dead so for for kby to lash out of him for that like it's just un
41:24
it's just untasteful it leaves sour taste in your mouth towards that fighter because you're like this guy is playing
41:30
dirty he's not talking about his skill he's not talking about the man himself even if you were to do like a Strickland
41:37
thing and talk about the guy's wife there was a reason for that it was funny it was a way to kind of take his eye off
41:45
the ball without really digging into it like he's not talking about her looks he's not talking about um anything aside
41:53
from the fact that this joke thing was out there and he's making fun of that so I I feel like that is in a different
42:00
category from dead parents you know it's it's
42:06
because a lot of people are trying to compare the two and I think no there's nothing to compare yeah like it's very
42:14
different and Colby his delivery is awful so if there
42:19
was a way to make dead dad tasteful kobby kovon is not the one to pull it off no who who would be the one to to
42:26
pull that off I feel like maybe Conor McGregor probably cuz he says it with a stupid accent he's
42:33
like dead you only figure out like two sentences like later what he actually
42:40
said then it's already passed so you can't even comment on it yeah exactly he would be able to deliver it in a way
42:47
with this accent that people would either laugh or forgive him the American
42:53
accent is just so unforgiving you just really got to stay on line with it um anybody else with an with an accent can
42:59
get away with a little bit more yeah could you imagine if Kobe coenson threw a woman off a
43:08
yacht can you imagine if he if he sexually assaulted a
43:13
woman in the bathroom at a basketball game can you imagine Kobe kovin K didn't get it away with that he would not he
43:20
would get his ass kicked at the place where it happened first of all
43:27
he'd probably get thrown off the yacht as well like he would not get away with that Conor mcgar can get away with
43:33
anything straight to jail yeah straight to jail straight to
43:38
jail throw a dolly at a bus straight to
43:43
jail oh my goodness you got to have the delivery you have to have that that
43:50
slick tongue and the money and the money the money the money helps it does the money helps you may know the president
43:57
but you don't have the money to to get away with this crime you're you're on your friend's
44:03
yacht I have my own yeah yeah exactly you rench your girls I have my
44:10
own I have a yacht full of girls so many that I can throw one off
44:17
the boat at any time they won't complain not that much
44:24
not if they want a Lifeboat I'll just sprinkle some money on them and they'll forget all about it go pick
44:30
it up swim to those dollars oh yeah man poor Kobe I feel
44:37
like that's what he wanted the whole time he wanted that type of unforgive or forgivable mischievousness you know what
44:45
it is it's it's a gift to be a likable [ __ ] it it's really a gift many many
44:50
are not born with it and few can develop that skill it's really either have or
44:56
you don't mhm it's like The Gift of Gab like the gift of being a [ __ ] up and
45:01
people still [ __ ] with you yeah just you got to stay in your lane like you're the funny one I'm the [ __ ] one I don't
45:07
I don't really like cross I don't really cross lines you know you're pretty funny you're pretty funny you feel like it you
45:15
dropped some good on liners every once in a while every once in a while but mostly I stay in my Lane yeah I have a
45:21
real problem with being [ __ ] it's really hard for me I'll be like [ __ ] you
45:27
[Laughter]
45:32
up like your dad died I'll see your dad in
45:40
hell like wait what I'm confused are you trying to be
45:46
mean it's really hard for me I need like RBF lesses see that's another thing that
45:52
you're born with or you're not sorry girl I just tired when I
45:58
[Laughter] try oh man yeah and then there's me who
46:04
gives it to everyone even like small children yeah you'll be like throws it
46:09
at everyone I can't help it you'll be on a roller coaster ride loving it
46:16
just it's not your fault you just Bor with it can't help it oh man well um we
