what up hello hello
0:15
pruning yourself you know I just trying to try to hit that one that one sweet spot angle oh
0:23
okay yeah right here no yeah I I remember when we uh took a a group photo
0:29
you'll always take the picture and you're like no we got to do it again and then you'll switch sides I have one good
0:34
angle and I'm like damn it I like the way I looked on this we just need to do the prompos yeah I
0:43
just feel like you have more angles than I do no I don't everyone thinks that about other people but we all only like
0:49
the way we look on one section of our face and the other section can suck a
0:55
dick it's a 45 degree angle from up above it's very specific yeah yeah very
1:02
specific at least you know yours I usually take a whole roll of film to find mine and it'll be blurry so that's
1:10
probably why I like it because blur you can't see uh the Pebbles imperfections it's funny so when we were
1:17
at Bellator the other weekend uh Matt who's a really amazing photographer he
1:22
you know took a little candid picture of me and I looked at him and then he sent it to me and he dm'd it to me uh you
1:27
know while the fights were still going on and he's like oh you know I I didn't get to I was like no it's okay that's not my angle oh it was never going to be
1:34
my angle it's never going to look good on me I don't care how much you try and retouch that he could retouch you to
1:39
look like the left side of your face is the right like it could happen it wasn't gonna happen
1:45
you know sometimes you just you just gotta let it go you just gotta take the L when it comes to a photo that would
1:50
have been good if it wasn't for your face exactly uh well
1:56
we had a pretty eventful few weeks
2:01
um had to like kind of pull the plug on last week's session but we're here now you missed us sometimes you know you got
2:09
to make them wait a little bit longer yeah you know you were waiting for that two straws episode because you're so
2:14
available I know all right like we were washing our hair we had things to do big things to do yes
2:21
um but we're here Jessica celebrated a big birthday the big 4-0 what you'll see
2:28
the the number I couldn't bring myself to say mine when I turned things you you
2:33
inspired me to say 38 because I've been acting like it doesn't exist
2:39
I say it loud and I say it probably for you you're 40 and I look amazing you do you look amazing from one
2:46
specific angle yeah yes yes
2:54
thank you I'll take it yes um just celebrated the big four oh
3:01
um we went pole dancing to celebrate I don't think you so much for setting that up it was fun right oh my gosh so it was
3:09
kind of cool because my strength coach at his wife is actually like a pole
3:15
dancer and instructor and everything and so when I told her that we wanted to do it and we you had the conversation with
3:22
her too one of our fight parties um she's like oh man you guys are Fighters so you're gonna like it like
3:28
you don't have to worry about the pain so because you're used to it I'm like hold up
3:34
what do you mean the pain it's supposed to be fun sexy and flirty and easy that [ __ ] hurts dude she talks about the poll
3:42
like biting oh that [ __ ] bit the [ __ ] out of my [ __ ]
3:48
your [ __ ] is big I had the gnarliest bruises from like
3:54
feet to to hip bone yeah and then even on my neck yes certain spots that like
4:01
flip upside down thing we did oh yes oh that was so fine that was so much fun so was it worth it oh it was so worth it I
4:09
went back the next week and she was like I thought I wasn't gonna see until after your fight I was like listen I'm technically still four weeks out so it's
4:15
okay it's okay I could do things right now okay and then I climbed up to the top and she was like please get down no
4:23
you're like the kid the kid on the on the tallest part of the monkey bars
4:29
I feel free up here good job right now okay and everyone's Gonna Hate Me
4:36
Dana White will shut down my pool Studio who was it it was uh cowboy Cerrone who
4:43
always uh would do like the stupidest craziest things yeah after signing about
4:48
agreement I think that they actually put in a clause inside of the fighter bout agreement the ceremony claws it's yeah
4:56
that says like you cannot do dangerous [ __ ] before a fight because yeah because
5:02
we need you Cerrone it just ruined it for everyone not that he got hurt doing those things not that I know of not that
5:09
I know he's always made it to a fight that he was booked for but if other people see that and they're not cowboys
5:15
really I mean he's a cowboy for a reason that's why he can go yippie Kaye [ __ ] and go like jet skiing
5:22
off a ramp yeah into a tube of fire and he'll come out okay and be able to fight
5:28
the next day exactly but no one else can do that no yeah so that's the surrounding Clause it's like the Ally
5:34
aquana claws which one is that the one about that one yeah yeah they always talk about it in the uh fighter meeting
5:41
after the weigh-in so like this is gonna be live TV so don't pull an ally equina
5:46
and cuss out the fans just because they're booing you you know these guys are paying to see you and we that we
5:52
don't need that happening it's bad look so yeah but if it's on a pay-per-view card oh yeah yeah as long as as long as uh
6:01
you paid to see it you're good if you're flipping through the channels and you land on like I don't know ESPN or
6:06
something and someone's going [ __ ] you guys and they might have a problem with it you make it a little a little fine
6:12
you fine yeah yeah so first deduction yeah we have certain rules because of certain Fighters Jess is going to cause
6:19
the Jessica Penny law where you can't go pole dancing before a fight
6:25
but that was fun I was surprised how much I liked it I loved it you were
6:31
floating like guys if you ever seen one of Jessica's like
6:37
Jiu Jitsu transitions how like smooth and flowy they are imagine this [ __ ] on
6:43
a pole imagine it who's pointed the entire time
6:49
I'm like how do I do it how do I slide down
6:54
I want to spin faster but she was just like
6:59
so I was very impressed thank you goals thank you yes so we had a fun time
7:08
celebrating your birthday then we had to recover because we're old and and you're in fight Camp so it's
7:15
extra recovery time but tell us how fight Cam's been going you're still on the books to fight the
7:30
I don't know but when I was a kid and we were in the swimming pool we would do that and that was a shark okay
7:38
with floaties very cute yes Gonna Get You floating yeah
7:44
that should be you should work on a submission that looks like that like I
7:50
bet you could get like a cool reared naked like a double rear naked where like one arms over the eyes other arm
7:55
around the neck hell yeah like get on their back get the
8:02
one arm rear naked and then do the other one and just go
8:08
it'll it'll look like the cover of Jaws you know when there's like a swimmer and Jaws is like right there yes yeah I can
8:15
make it her face eat her face I can bite out of it yes so how's camping gone can't
8:22
good you know um I'm able to push myself yeah I've
8:28
noticed I'm able to to like execute really cool stuff yeah yeah yeah tell me
8:34
more but not too much no I'm not telling you anything more it was very vague very cryptic because you know
8:42
can't give away all my secrets I know I I do uh think it's quite a g move when
8:48
people just say exactly what they're gonna do like they're like oh I call their shots yeah like uh Conor McGregor
8:54
I'm gonna knock them out with with this hook in the second round I don't know if he was that specific but he would say
9:00
the rounds yeah he wasn't the first one to do it but it was still impressive because you
9:06
do it every now and then right yeah yeah so I always think it's it's uh it's a g
9:11
move when you're like everyone knows what I'm gonna do but you can do it anyway yeah exactly I
9:17
think aljo did it uh where he was explaining his whole game plan against somebody and I forget who it was and I
9:24
was like oucho don't do that and then he did it yeah he's great at taking the back and staying on yeah I think it might have
9:29
been Corey sandhagen yeah I think I mean he kind of does the same thing like he has he has very he's like a jake Shields
9:36
I'm not like I'm not being shady he has Alto no I like him you hear this girl
9:44
over here I like me some aljo stop it yeah I'll do a fan no I know I know you're an Aldo fan no he he just has he
9:52
has very specific Roots like he has drilled those thousands and thousands of times and he knows how to get there and
9:58
he's gonna get there and he's gonna stay there and he's going to capitalize yeah and he does it really well best backpack
10:04
in the bantamweight division yeah maybe in the UFC best pack well
10:10
active I was like trying to think of the word wait now ever did you press a button I
10:17
am malfunctioning that happens yes the word I was looking for has no sound in
10:23
it I thought you were trying to say like or something like that because he
10:28
backpacked uh yeah this weekend so I thought that's where you were going but not even close no because he usually
10:34
doesn't have the backpack I think he just had to take what he could get this time yeah but usually he can just climb
10:41
on top of you and have his way with you it doesn't need your back or anything it's just like I'm gonna take it from
10:46
the front pause Al jokes
10:52
oh man but uh let's talk about some fights then um there's so many to get through
10:59
because we had such a long Hiatus but maybe we should start with uh 283 yeah
11:06
let's go all right absolutely oh well then
11:13
let's do it okay so you want to talk about Glover versus Hill oh my God
11:20
I mean if we're going to talk about a fight on that card that one or do you want to like do we did I just like give
11:27
away too much should we like backtrack and work up to it no let's talk about the main and Nicole main because we're
11:33
so late like everyone's over this card already but you guys really want to hear our opinions on it so we're going to
11:38
give it to you yes no we're going to give you especially our opinion on the Main and co-main dude that fight was so
11:46
intense like I was on the edge of my seat grabbing things the whole time
11:52
um super impressed with Jamal super impressed with Glover too for just like
11:58
wading through the storm like we all know that he does that but when he saw his face afterwards dude oh my gosh he
12:06
was slashed up from punches elbows kicks to the head like dude can take a punch
12:11
man and he took all of them he took every lesson he took everything Jamal
12:17
through everything at that man with power on every single kick punch
12:24
anything he threw yeah and man Glover is freaking tough yeah and I mean hats off
12:29
to Jamal like I I either thought that it could and early but then we have Glover's like
12:37
durable freaking chin and body so I'm like maybe it'll go the whole round but we don't know how good Jamal's takedown
12:44
fence is going to be right because Glover's a veteran right he's crafty he's tricky but man dude it was on point
12:50
like Jamal's takedown defense was on point I think he can uh thank Anthony
12:56
Smith a little bit for that because he came through for a few days that was really awesome because they were
13:01
supposed to fight if I was not a fan and I'm not saying I wasn't I'm saying if I was not a fan of him before I you hear
13:10
that Anthony no I like Anthony you hear that no I'm just bringing it back to you or just being no I know I know you were
13:16
trying to just okay but everyone knows you love them
13:23
um yeah that was [ __ ] awesome of him um and you know it's beneficial it's not often that we can train with someone in
13:31
our weight class in our same uh uh you know in our same promotion but
13:38
when you have the opportunity it's very beneficial the only problem is they can take that information use it against you
13:44
as well so it's great for every other fight because you're like okay I got this excellent Grappler who's gonna like
13:51
take me down he's taking him down a bunch of people before he's gonna show me what I'm open to he's going to show
13:56
my holes and then you get to work on that but then he can go back and say
14:02
I get them with this takedown every time so so it's really cool that both of them were just like you know what I don't I
14:07
don't [ __ ] care like we're gonna get better the two of us and we're gonna be Bros for this fight camp at least yeah
14:15
just for the same time but but don't get it twisted I'm recording those training
14:20
videos yes exactly do not do not train with someone in your weight class and
14:27
you're saying promotion and not record those videos because you will not get them from their coach yeah I'm sorry you
14:33
take your own camera you have your own cameraman yes yes don't wait for the airdrop it's not
14:38
it's not gonna happen it's gonna it's gonna get errored oops I don't know what happened my Wi-Fi
14:44
is bad I'm at a reception you know what I'll get back to you sorry I wasn't filming it was a photo
14:52
sorry um so that was really cool of him and
14:57
his takedown defense looked amazing Jamal's did in the fight um he just
15:03
everyone already knew his striking was going to be a problem for Glover because like he's just really Savvy with his
15:10
like long straight punches and then he sets up that like nasty left head kick so fast too I was impressed by the body
15:18
kicks he was throwing he was throwing those toe kicks oh yeah the stabs oh my God they like kind of come up in a
15:25
trajectory that is is like almost like a roundhouse kick but then it's like straight at the same time and it just
15:31
the toes dig in and every time you throw it like my stomach kind of yeah were you good at putting those toes like uh like
15:38
how I do on the pool yeah especially on the pole so that's like yeah something
15:43
you can something you could take home with you from the Jamal Camp
15:49
um I can't get over how pointy your toes are is like so dancery it was great can
15:56
you stand on point like a ballerina not unless I'm in toe shoes
16:01
but no some ballerinas can like stand up on their toes I cannot not in ballerina shoes no
16:08
in ballerina shoes yeah but I have these nice little platforms you do you don't need those you don't need the the on
16:14
point thing um I thought you might have been able to because toes are so beautiful uh what
16:20
were you talking about yeah the fight and Toes only on only fans
16:30
um yeah it was a really great fight I was really happy for him and I think the biggest the thing that stands out to me
16:37
was how he reacted after winning like the way he
16:44
he was calm for a long time and I was like oh he must be tired and then it all
16:50
hit him and he broke down dude my heart I was crying my heart
16:59
no that was so sweet and it's like
17:05
you know you I don't know him well but I've gotten to spend some some time with him and so it's just
17:11
you know you just you root for people and you want them to have success and you know what what a story what an
17:18
incredible story he went from the first ever you know person who got on to the USC through the contender series and now
17:24
he is a UFC champion yes it's a crazy ride especially because like when and I
17:31
think he got brought into Contender series during um the shutdown like when covet happened
17:37
and that was really the only thing that was signing people like you have a lot
17:42
of Fighters who have the story where they were like dude I was about to hang it up like I was about to get a real job
17:48
I couldn't I have kids I had to support them and then they got scooped up and
17:53
suddenly they're making the living wage and doing what they love you know and
17:59
you can just take it all the way to the top like a channel so
18:06
it really is uh it really is cool to see those Rags to Riches kind of stories
18:11
where you have someone who has been grinding for a long time because he has a record you know outside of the EFC
18:17
he's not he's not a fresh Daisy in there and he was able to get into the UFC
18:22
finally and make his way to the top it's a really inspirational story for anyone outside of a big league who is still
18:31
very passionate about the sport still believes that they're the best their coaches believe they're the best and
18:36
they just haven't had that opportunity yet and we know a bunch of those people yeah there is there are some incredible
18:42
people in the sport that have been fighting for a long time that have not yet had the chance in I mean
18:49
possibly won't ever get the opportunity to make it into like the Big Show the
18:54
you know where they want to be and where they you know aspire to be um but I think it's
19:00
you know you look at you look at Jamal and you look at some other Fighters and you're just like you know it's possible it's possible you know you keep grinding
19:07
you keep staying with it and anything is possible yeah
19:12
Association if anyone had to beat Glover I'm glad
19:17
it's you such a sweetheart both of them all right
19:22
uh also what happened on that card Brandon Moreno Kate old Davison figureda how did you
19:31
feel about that because it was like a weird like soap before eyeball punch
19:36
man but I've so I I know exactly that feeling I know
19:42
exactly what he was expressing because it feels like an eye poke I mean that guy's like the knuckle part he went into
19:49
it yeah it kind of whipped yeah so I know what he's talking about I know how bad that hurts I know what that feels
19:55
like and it absolutely can take somebody out of the game yeah so before this fight happened I was like why are we doing this the fourth time
20:02
like isn't there somebody anybody else please anybody else even though they they are great dance Partners they make
20:08
for a great fight I was just like man they haven't fought anybody else in two years was it
20:14
is it's a three now at least two and a half I'm like just you know
20:20
can we switch it up a little bit but [Music]
20:26
um yeah that was that was an impressive fight I can understand though how it took figure
20:32
out out of out of it yeah like completely took him out of it well completely eyeball is shut yeah his
20:39
eyeball is completely shut like I don't think he could have kept going if he wanted to I don't think so uh it's hard
20:44
to remember so long ago I know yesterday's news but I know I remember I watched it with you yeah I did watch it
20:50
with you yeah and I remember seeing the punch whip around and I felt like it was
20:56
the thumb knuckle that hit the eyeball first dude your eye if you think about
21:01
your eye you think about a grape and how easy it is to bruise a grape you know
21:07
just messing with the pressure there is just gonna send your entire eyeball into protection mode and it just shut
21:14
immediately yeah and you know something happened you know like like I hope people weren't giving them too much
21:20
people were people were like oh you're lying because they showed the replay and there was no actual you know there
21:26
wasn't a finger poke but it feels the same like my or uh my poor swollen
21:32
knuckle all from hitting so many people from so many times oh my God it was it
21:38
was exposed you know there wasn't any glove on it so this knuckle is like really swollen still and that was from
21:45
two months ago so imagine if I got it in her eyeball
21:51
or I would be so more swollen than my knuckle right now
21:58
I don't feel bad for you I I just don't why it's look fill it
22:03
it's still simple oh my goodness it's so because you hit her so many times it won't go away you just hit her so many
22:11
times I'm like disfigured forever my hand you're never gonna be a hand model oh
22:19
luckily you have a pretty face and a nice booty uh from more than one angle hey
22:26
I only have one booty English actually
22:32
I was really happy about that decision just because we've trained with Marina we've met him a ton of times he's
22:39
always super sweet he's such a nice guy yeah and I I kind of felt bad because somebody brought up the point that
22:46
nobody was in Davidson's corner from like the commentators to like uh you
22:52
know give see people a lot of Fighters or back in Moreno but I think that just comes with the territory when you don't
22:59
speak a lot of English I think yeah and I mean the way the way figaretto
23:05
portrays himself and he didn't always but he kind of developed himself into
23:11
more of more of a heel role and when you're going up against somebody who plays with LEGOs and who's adorable and
23:17
is very childlike you're it's like you it's a hard act to follow it really is it really is because Moreno's a very
23:24
likable human he is he is he's always smiling he always is you know outgoing
23:29
and personable and I remember when we were watching the fights last year in January in Anaheim
23:38
when they fought with their second or third that was their third one that was their third one yeah I mean there was
23:44
not one person that Arena that was rude that was not rooting for Moreno yeah yeah and there's a lot of Brazilians out
23:49
there you know there's a lot there's a lot but they were shut down they did not speak they if they were
23:57
there they just you know they were like laughs excuse me
24:03
oh nothing nothing [Laughter]
24:11
um yeah I think yeah and I just want to clarify with the English thing I'm not like speak English and get out of my
24:17
country but you get to connect with people on a different level when you're able to have like a conversation with
24:22
them absolutely and they were mostly speaking about the English-speaking Fighters and commentators and blah blah
24:30
who were backing Marino hard because he's such a like fun guy he's such a
24:36
sweet guy like you said he's adorable with the Lego thing and the pops and all that stuff and he's just trying to take
24:43
care of his family just like uh just like figuredos you know but yeah just different different approaches yeah
24:49
exactly and it's okay it's okay it's okay to back someone it's okay to like
24:55
someone like the more popular guy right now and then I get it yeah
25:01
um so we could talk about other fights but let's say we move on you want to do
25:08
uh 284 is that where we're at e well we had a quick fight night but uh we don't
25:15
have to talk about that uh Derek Lewis versus spivack came on it was supposed to be in Korea
25:21
um it was not it was not but it was still on at 1am for a lot of people yeah well it's because so I had the
25:28
opportunity and and you've worked for mola too but I had the opportunity to preview the reason that they were going
25:34
to have that fight over there is because they had the uh finale of the road to
25:39
the UFC oh which was top prospects from Asia competing in a tournament format
25:44
different weight classes and so they had the finale fights on that card so that's
25:50
why it was supposed to be in Korea yeah it was a big deal and I got to preview one of
25:55
um the 155 finale yeah which was
26:00
oh my God Jacka which was Jacka versus and then um his last name is Jubilee ooh
26:08
like uh the Mortal Kombat I mean not Mordecai like the Marvel character
26:13
Jubilee um different spelling oh yeah but similar similar pronunciations oh yes
26:20
yes yes yes who was it fireworks
26:25
it was it was a rough night it was a rough night for our friend Jacka oh so Jacka came up he was um a late addition
26:33
to the tournament it was a 155 tournament and he is normally a 145er he's very tiny firecracker very cheeky
26:40
very fun to watch very explosive big knockout power I see what you did there did you
26:49
the person that he fought Jubilee was well prepared he's a six foot solid 155.
26:54
six foot 155. yeah and jacko's like I mean you've seen jackets yeah he doesn't
27:00
look that much bigger than me but I'm sure he is he's probably like between maybe like five eight tallest yeah
27:06
um and a tiny guy he walks around pretty light so it was it was a tough night for Jacka but he still got signed to the UFC
27:14
uh the first Indonesian I believe yeah to sign with UFC so it was it was a
27:19
really big thing and um so I'm excited to see what he does at 1
27:26
45. nice and then Jubilee was I believe he's the first uh fighter from India okay I I forget
27:34
where ex where specifically he's from oh there he is Jubilee
27:41
and Jubilee
27:48
uh he is from ah
27:53
it's like the main it's the capital of of India oh yeah India yes India's MMA fighter
28:01
and chill Jubilee creates history yeah yeah good for them so it was it was a
28:06
pretty cool you know um little little story within you know a bigger Fight Card yeah interesting yeah
28:14
I knew about um Korean zombie supposing was supposed
28:19
to be the main event and then he got injured so I think that's why they didn't have it in Korea anymore but I
28:25
didn't know that that's why they still had the timing and the same so yeah it was it was a big deal there were top
28:31
prospects from Asia it was very big very big thing very nice all right well let's
28:37
move on because I don't want to talk about poor uh poor Derek loses fight that was
28:43
it was it was kind of like it wasn't good it wasn't good
28:49
um but like that spivot guy he's underrated like nobody really knows who
28:55
he is the only reason I know who he is is because I had to watch tape on him once and I was like holy [ __ ] this guy's pretty good nobody knows who he is so it
29:03
was a tough fight you know it wasn't just like Derrick Lewis dropping a fight to a scrub yeah so I'm interested to see
29:09
what he does but this guy he is like the definition of elephant seal fighter like
29:15
big big old heavyweight powerful explosive like when they get bloody it looks like
29:22
something on National Geographic like watching his fights so kudos to spend
29:30
back for uh for winning that one and uh we also that same day we got to go to
29:36
Belvedere what is it 290 I believe it was 290. Bellator the last
29:45
Emperor's last walk we'll call it that yes yes and we got to see
29:51
fed or go out in a in a blaze
29:56
I'm really sad about that yeah that place of Glory but it was it was it was
30:02
kind of hard to watch it like it kind of It kind of bummed me out yeah I you know I I've been Emma in MMA for a really
30:09
long time and Fedor was like the guy to watch he had so much mystique and yeah
30:15
and um just Intrigue about him you know he's this guy who just you know knocks
30:20
all these bigger dudes out he's you know never looked anything more than you know an in-shaped dad bod and he's just but
30:28
he's so good and he's he's you know very very quiet and you know I used to stay
30:35
up all night and you know to watch him fight so it was it was something that I really wanted to see and then when I saw
30:40
that he was going up against um Ryan Bader Ryan Bader I was like why
30:47
why did you choose that to be your last walk when it ended the way it ended uh
30:54
the last time but apparently Fedor you know he hears who he is and he wanted an
30:59
opportunity to possibly you know retire with the belt so that's why he took that fight even though he could have requested anyone to fight as his last
31:07
fight he chose that so I really respect that I think that's really really admirable it just I didn't see it
31:13
going any other way than the way that it went yeah I mean his his weight class is a lot different these days you know it's
31:19
hard to be the smaller guy in there and still be able to wrestle effectively to
31:26
to hit harder you know to be faster than some of these guys is Ryan Bader he's an athlete you know he knows how to chill
31:33
in certain places and that's why he doesn't have like the biggest fan base compared to some of the other Champions
31:39
but he is explosive he's aggressive and he's strong so once he gets in a good
31:45
position that's usually what happens like he's able to smash the guy up
31:51
and that's what happened to Fedor and everyone was sad did you see that video uh that Rampage Jackson posted on his
31:59
Instagram and like I think it was a Russian guy and he was trying to run up into the cage and got
32:06
manhandled by security so I I like dream like dream watching a fight a
32:13
Fedor I got to go cage side yeah for that fight I missed that
32:21
I was probably on the other side hopefully I was on this side I don't know how I can miss that yeah but I missed it and I did not see that video
32:28
um but what I did see was all of these ex Pride Fighter X you know Showtime
32:34
Fighters going into the cage and just paying their respects that was really cool that was beautiful I thought that
32:41
that was really amazing I don't know if the actual broadcast got to see that because of like the time restraints
32:46
whatever it was but I thought that that was really beautiful I thought that was amazing and you know everyone just came
32:51
to pay their respects and you know be a part of it and I thought that was really a beautiful touch it was it really was
32:57
and it made up for the loss because it shows you that the what happened in the fight didn't
33:04
matter it didn't have any effect on his legacy and all these people are paying
33:09
their respects because of that you know people who are inspired by him Legends in their own right you know so that was
33:15
really cool to see I I was happy I got to witness that for sure that's something that always drew me to Pride
33:24
yeah you don't have to be necessarily the best but they just were interested
33:30
in putting together like exciting fights or unique fights they were
33:35
um there was just yeah there was just a different vibe it was a different time the the kind of fights that they put
33:40
together they loved heart they really did the Japanese fans oh yeah like dude they love heart like fighting in Japan
33:47
was such a different experience and I've I've only got you know to go there on a
33:54
short notice and I fought there and it was the most amazing fight experience of my life I know that they brought me into
33:59
loose like I get it I didn't but I get what they were doing it was fine but
34:05
just the amount of of respect that all fans showed even though like I was the Foreigner I was you know coming into
34:11
enemy territory they were still so respectful and there's there was just um such like intelligence about
34:19
like everyone there and what they were watching they just appreciated every every effort yeah it was just so
34:25
different you know dude that's like a dream of mine to fight in Japan yeah
34:31
it's I love Japan I met Adam in Japan if you guys don't know just knows all about
34:36
the story um when we were in college and student exchange I neither of us did any martial
34:44
arts and we met and we just clicked and then stayed in touch and then when I
34:49
came home he came home with me and then they got married so they get a
34:56
puppy yeah yeah we got married so they want to kick
35:01
him out the country and there you go um so Japan is a really special place
35:07
for us and it's crazy for me to think that I would end up doing this career
35:12
and be in Japan and those two things didn't cross you know I mean like they
35:18
didn't coincide like they were two separate things um but I would love to fight in Japan
35:24
like they just they respect fighting so much and they understand the art of it it's like when you're there because we
35:31
got to go to the New Year show uh last time they did uh what was it was a
35:36
horizon versus belladar yeah yeah so we got to go to that show and um and the
35:43
Stadium's biggest stadium I've ever seen and it was the saitama arena but it was
35:49
dead silent like every fight yeah dead side is that how it was for yours yeah
35:55
yes and then they clap out of respect when you're doing something good impressive good like a reversal on the
36:03
ground yeah they they clap like what that's crazy you could probably hear people bullying during the uh during the
36:11
Islam uh vulcanovski fight just because he got a takedown in Japan they would
36:17
just go yeah it's amazing yeah I love it I love it I really want to fight for them and
36:22
the walkouts dude what did you do did you do something cool for your walkout I didn't get to do anything I'm gonna
36:29
fight there again I do it was dude it was an amazing experience it was such a
36:34
cool cool fight story it's definitely by far the coolest thing I've ever gotten to do nice really do like a story time
36:41
one episode and I will whip out pictures and stuff and you just talk about that and I'll just listen and just be like
36:50
um so yeah Japan is just really awesome for the way that they respect the the fans and I really do feel like that's
36:57
where MMA got its biggest boost is from those Pride tournaments and then people
37:03
started enjoying that then they started watching like UFC and taking it more seriously and then we had uh you see a
37:10
choir pride and now we have like you know what we see now in modern day MMA
37:15
and uh fan Zion is great man you know on this side so I just got I just got a
37:23
visual of when they had they had some of like they call Uno and genkisudo and they had some of like the old school
37:29
pride Fighters all over and fight in the UFC and I loved Genki sudo me too I was just watching his videos the other day
37:35
oh my God he's the coolest Fighters that has ever that has ever lived and he did this amazingly
37:42
beautiful walkout for when he fought in the UFC oh and it was so underappreciated and it was beautiful he
37:49
was like uh he was a geisha with a fan and he was blowing the Lotus blood like it was it just gave me chills like it
37:56
was so beautiful and it just I felt like it didn't get like the appreciation yeah the respect
38:04
that it deserved because it was a beautiful moment he's such a performer he is that's probably why he quit
38:10
because he was still kind of in his prime when he hung up the gloves but he was just like yeah I'm just gonna make
38:15
synchronized Dance videos this is my thing now I like this better
38:21
I'm sure he's on Tick Tock or something he'd have a great Tick Tock great yeah
38:28
um yeah so that was a really cool scene at send off um any other fights you want to talk about from the Bellator card
38:35
um that I mean that was the reason that that I was there our friend Darion
38:41
Caldwell fought he opened up the card still mad about that still a little bit
38:47
so I mean rightfully so yeah um
38:53
I I still don't understand how they scored it for the other guy right I mean
38:59
if you what's the criteria for for winning so just real quick our friend Darion fought three rounds and went to
39:06
decision and he took the guy down repeatedly he controlled the guard he
39:11
didn't land Too Much from the guard but he was still controlling he still made it challenging for this guy and he was
39:17
he had like tons of control time out of 15 minutes I'd say he had more than half
39:22
of that yeah and um just to recap I went and found the
39:27
scorecard and all judges gave Darian the first round
39:32
but then all three judges gave um what's this guy's name
39:38
mikhailov mikhailov mikalov yeah I think that's how you say it they all gave him the
39:45
second and the third round and I was just like the [ __ ] like how how could you give him the first and then the
39:52
second and third were pretty much the same as the first yeah so how would you score that differently exactly what was
39:58
the difference yeah if anything uh the the Russian guy he was a little better
40:03
at controlling Darion in the third round but still I felt like the control time
40:09
was still more in Darien's side like he landed the bigger shots on the outside and it's it's one of those scorecards
40:15
where if you gave that guy if you gave Darian the first round and then you gave
40:21
that guy the second round you should have gave given Darien the third round because if you're going off a damage I
40:27
think in the second round the guy was trying to do this a lot like the punch while Darion was on his back yeah he was
40:34
doing that a lot if you're going for damage and shots landed and that counts then you should
40:41
have scored the third round for Darion because he landed the more shots on the feet and then when the guy tried to take
40:48
him down he landed elbows to the to his head as he was like on on his back trying to drag him to the floor but if
40:55
you're gonna go with control time which is what the guy had in the third round you should have given Darion the second
41:01
round does that make sense yeah or do I just sound like a crazy person with numbers all around my head no no no I followed you completely sometimes I
41:08
don't but I did I need some strings here some strings and push pins I'm pissed
41:14
and you know what that we could segue that into the uh volkanovski is on
41:20
makashev fight I listen it's not the worst robbery I have ever seen but but
41:26
homeboy one but [Music]
41:33
so I I was in my head I was like and during the what was it the fourth round
41:40
I was like if they have darian's judges he might
41:45
win this [Music] oh oh oh is it time it's almost time to go to
41:51
Sprints oh no I'm just gonna make a quick text yeah keep going so in my head I was like okay
41:57
I've seen people get points win a fight just from land and punches while
42:04
someone's on their back trying to choke them because the other guy isn't Landing punches as well even though those
42:10
punches don't really do things I I have yet to see someone get cut someone get
42:15
maimed someone gets swollen from a punch like this but it's like button mashing yeah it doesn't do you're not do you're
42:21
looking busy but you're not effective oop you're not doing damage oop trying to knock him out with the sweep in
42:27
Mortal Kombat you know like why do those even count yeah exactly that [ __ ] it doesn't hurt that was a really good analogy right yeah oh well it was like
42:35
like well that was really good
42:42
um it's it really does uh peeve me that it's so different across the board
42:47
um but in my head I'm like well you know he did more in the beginning half of the
42:53
fourth round and now Market ships on his back but he's Landing those punches there's a chance he'll get the fourth I
43:00
didn't think it was likely but I think the the round that most people are saying bulk one was the second and
43:06
that's when I need to actually re-watch because live I thought volkanovski lost that round I thought it was so close so
43:13
the first and second round were so freaking close I was like
43:19
it was like it could potentially go either way I do have to watch the second round again because I feel like that is
43:25
the one that stood out in my mind the most but for sure I thought he had the third and the fifth fourth yeah fourth
43:31
of course not got it yeah that's fine that's fair yeah but I was just like man like
43:37
I just I I felt like he could have gotten like a you remember uh Max Holloway versus volcanovski one however
43:45
was so upset that Max was like dominating the first two rounds and then
43:50
last three were close but volganovski ended up winning and I was thinking
43:56
judges like him yeah there's a chance there's a chance they're counting these they're counting
44:02
these and he's still in the round with it um but I have to re-watch that second round I I do remember it being close but
44:09
the pessimist in me was like close but no cigar just because I wanted like I do
44:14
the opposite thing that most fans do when I have a fighter that I like and want to see when and it's a close round
44:21
I automatically think their opponent gets it you know what I mean I've just I've been burned you're so jaded oh
44:28
you've been burned I get it my friends my associates we've all been burned
44:36
Derek clearing saw the model [ __ ] Douglas Crosby and suck a dick
44:43
you know I never cared to know the judge's names until you yeah so have a
44:48
list Derek Clary clearly he's he's given me wins but he's still on my [ __ ] list
44:54
for the Waterson fight so let's put it out there that's fair he was the 49-46 for Islam
45:00
just put it out there don't set a riot he usually gets it right but just put
45:05
him out there he's no Douglas Crosby but just putting out there he's the worst yeah
45:13
I I don't think I've seen him uh score a fight no he got in trouble oh yes yes
45:19
even a little bit of trouble with him on a previous episode and I
45:24
swear right after we had this conversation
45:34
finally it only it only took how many years and how many terrible decisions
45:40
yeah and millions of people complaining that's all it took
45:47
[Music] but hey at least he's in trouble and hopefully he won't see him anytime soon
45:54
um well since he got a run let's pause it here and we'll do our exclusive 15 minutes and talk about the crazy card
46:02
that was UFC 284 I know you already got a taste but we're gonna go into depth
46:07
when you return be right back [Music]
46:20
oh [Music]
