all right we're rolling oh we aren't ready yeah I just hit it because that's
0:11
so we can sink it but no pressure we can start in a minute
0:21
[Laughter] and hello
0:27
and we're back with another episode of two straws I mean it's been a minute I feel like
0:34
it's been forever but it really has only been you know enough for our bi-weekly the norm with each other yeah the normal
0:40
uh a bit of time I don't know we've been busy we're busy yes there's been a lot of
0:47
stuff going on a lot of fight stuff going on yeah which I feel like we should you know jump into jump into Dive
0:54
Right In um I think chronologically what we should talk about first is Jan O'Malley
1:01
okay yeah sure unless you want to talk about something else no I mean yeah
1:06
let's start with it it's not like it's a main event or anything but people were acting like it was like literally if if
1:14
you were watching in a legal stream it would cut out during the Yan O'Malley
1:19
fight and then get better once you got to know colon main event yeah and I mean we do have to talk
1:26
diligently I wouldn't know heard from a friend I heard from a
1:32
friend that yeah the stream got a little choppy during Yana Molly and then evened out during the actual Colleen and Main
1:39
Event and for people who are not familiar with a streaming platform that normally happens when like a lot of
1:46
people are signing on because they really want to see what's going on and so like the everything just kind of like
1:51
goes Haywire for a little bit Yeah and people lose get kicked off then after we sign in and it's a big thing yeah and
1:58
sometimes so many people sign in that you can't even watch it it's just like it it it's it's like freeze framed
2:05
like slow motion yeah I think uh my friend said at some point
2:10
they're watching the fight and then it stops and then
2:16
[ __ ] O'Malley was on top Beyond with a takedown so it was really crazy how
2:22
just missing those frames can totally just change your mood it just totally it
2:30
just changed everything mood when you said that wow he was not a takedown it technically was
2:37
not a takedown it's so weird that Cormier said it was technically a [ __ ] takedown but you know I'm not gonna give it to a wrestler he's pretty
2:44
generous with his takedowns is he he's pretty generous with depending on who it
2:49
is depending on who it is I've heard him be super stingy if it's an AKA guy he's
2:54
like oh he got like 10 takedowns that round really the guy just like touched his leg so weird how that happens so weird
3:02
you know we're all human and sometimes we have a little bit of you know biased viewpoints
3:09
and I totally get that yeah but it was a takedown it was a bad thing it was it
3:15
was kind of like a double leg that turned into a scramble that kyorian
3:22
popped up from but it was still impressive that oh well even got that
3:27
close it's so weird that you're not mentioning all of the many takedowns and
3:33
control time that young got I'm just talking Focus on O'Malley I'm just talking about when the stream
3:40
cut off okay okay for a friend okay my friend one of my friends stream cut
3:46
out it was just like what but okay so let's talk about this the
3:52
reason that it it's become such a thing like such a subject of interest is
3:58
because everyone counted uh omaliel like everyone except for his uh Army of fans
4:05
everyone counted him out for winning this fight I am one of those people who was very
4:14
you don't even know what I was gonna say shade I am one of those people where I thought
4:20
this was going to be a really interesting challenge for him and I didn't know if he was actually gonna you know step up and rise to it I thought it
4:27
could be an ugly fight because O'Malley has so much range and he uses it really well yeah he also has you know some
4:33
power behind his punches and Jana's you know notoriously starting slow it's a three rounder so there were just all
4:40
sorts of factors that were in my mind that were you know questions yeah and so I think I mean across the board I think
4:46
O'Malley did better than a lot of people besides his many many fans gave him
4:52
credit for however I don't think it was enough to win a fight yeah but I do the
4:58
weird thing is and I feel like a lot of people feel this way is that I feel like if they were to rematch even if it was
5:05
immediate I feel like O'Malley showed enough wrinkles in his game that he
5:11
could win decisively in the next fight like he had a lot of moments if it was a five rounder if maybe he had just a few
5:18
adjustments that he had to make um in Camp then I think he could win
5:23
that fight I feel like O'Malley or young O'Malley okay I feel like O'Malley just made so many improvements from when he
5:31
first got on to the into the UFC to now that he's up here and he's hanging and
5:38
having close fights with someone like Pio deyan who he shouldn't even be looking at you know in in most people's
5:45
eyes so that was the weird thing because I had to give him Ali credit I also did not think that he won the fight but I
5:52
did feel like before the scorecards are red I felt like if he would have rematched pyre on he could win that
5:58
fight he could get a knock down he can uh have more confidence in his
6:04
preparation because he did so well in this fight that everyone counted them out on I I really think that the next
6:10
time he comes in if he makes the same improvements that he's made the same jumps and skill that he's made so far
6:17
then he can win that fight but I did not think he won this one like it was close
6:24
but it was it seemed pretty decisive for pyorian
6:29
I agree with that I think it seemed decisive and I think that maybe some
6:35
you know some reason that some people saw it differently is because of the length and the reach and it took you on
6:42
a little bit more to to get in but his takedown timings were amazing his control time you know
6:49
excelled and I just thought that he showed his his veteran status I think I
6:55
think Yonder is you know top tier I'm a huge fan of his and
7:01
I just thought he did enough to decisively win like I did not think that there was a question mark however here
7:08
we are here we are and next in line for a potential title fight against Champion
7:13
Al Jermaine Sterling which what what a crazy fight with him and dylasha yeah that was nuts that was insane so how do
7:20
you feel about TJ disclosing that he's known that
7:26
that's that he's been dealing with this issue since April and he's known that this was going to be a factor and he's
7:32
been battling this like how does it make you feel that he like
7:38
took the fight anyways I I understand it maybe from a Fighter's perspective it's like you want to get paid you want an
7:43
opportunity you don't want to wait in line here to jump the line I get wanting to go into it but at the same time
7:49
his apology to the division after the fight you know saying like I'm sorry if I jammed up the division you know there
7:55
are people winning in line yes there are and yet he took it knowing that this was going to happen yeah I'm I'm not
8:04
I'm not so sure that he held up the division because
8:09
um you know we we have Cheeto chitovera he's one of the ones waiting he just
8:15
fought so if that fight were to happen it would still take a few months to prepare and everything like that
8:21
um it there aren't too many people who stand out for algae to fight right now
8:27
so TJ delishal was the best choice as of right now a lot of those guys who would
8:33
be fighting for the title either lost recently to one of the top five or they're waiting for their upcoming
8:39
matchups so I feel like TJ was a little bit in his feelings at how bad the fight
8:45
looked and was trying to you know just just kind of apologize for how bad it
8:53
looks like he's he's saying I'm sorry that my shoulder popped out immediately and I don't think that I feel like if he
9:00
was sparring ever and every time he sparred it popped out first round then
9:05
maybe he would be a little less inclined to take that fight but it's an issue but you don't know know when it's going to
9:11
arise and the thing that sucks about that is I don't know it it's always
9:18
hindsight is 20 20. and it most Fighters have had a fight where they go in there
9:24
and they're not 100 for sure and he's done it before he's fought on one leg
9:30
you know with the um was it Corey sandhagen he hurt his knee very early in
9:36
the fight he was still able to win that fight he probably thought that lightning could strike twice he thought that he
9:42
could overcome the adversity of having one arm but he he would have the arm for
9:48
a little bit until it popped out it's it's just like
9:53
a weird situation where you can't I just feel like I I can't knock him for
10:00
trying to do the impossible now that we've seen what happens it's like oh
10:05
yeah there's no way you would have won but he had to try he he himself had to
10:11
go in there and try to make this money try to win the belt because once you win the belt you're guaranteed another big
10:18
money fight you went about you go on the fight for a lot more money to defend a belt as opposed to waiting in line
10:25
possibly fighting another Contender who could pop your shoulder out you know and then he's out for another year however
10:32
long it takes to to recover from that shoulder injury he already bounced back
10:37
from an injury so it would have been tough for him to call it a quits if he could survive rounds of spine
10:44
I wonder so you and I are no strangers to having to
10:50
I guess navigate through training camp with injuries and and just doing what you can and I just don't think he was
10:58
actually sparring in training camp like I don't think he really could have I think that he knew that it was that bad
11:04
and again I'm I'm assuming but I'm just trying to like get into that mindset and
11:14
I feel like he hoped that it would have lasted but I just don't know how much training he was actually able to do like
11:19
physical like contact full contact training which
11:25
I mean he's getting up there in age too so it's less likely that he is doing super full contact but he still has to
11:31
drill he still has to work and I'm sure his training Partners were being mindful of his situation and trying to protect
11:37
him it's um yeah it's just really unfortunate I mean he had he had you
11:42
know a couple of nice little moments with with one arm I I was impressed
11:50
I mean he threw he threw a kick and it got caught and then he based out and his
11:56
shoulder popped out he planted it's like why would you put your arm down the one that's [ __ ] up
12:03
just do a shoulder roll why would you why would she I mean it was that maybe
12:08
that's like a maybe that's the clue that he was inspiring the fact that he didn't figure that out yet okay I'm gonna throw
12:15
a kick if the person catches the kick don't do that don't don't try to brace
12:21
for the fall with your [ __ ] up shoulder because it'll probably pop out I mean or you could you know go back
12:28
into history and look at what happened to Shogun Hua in in Pride with his elbow completely dislocated this way don't
12:35
post any arm yeah yeah I I'm a poster I will post
12:42
um but only when you know everything feels good if my [ __ ] elbow was
12:48
feeling a little wonky or my wrist hurts then I'll probably go
12:54
I'll touch your ground and go oh yeah but he never had a chance to because that's how bad it was like he touched
13:01
the ground he went oh yeah my shoulder but it's it's out already it's it's a it's an easy mistake to make but it's
13:07
just a shame that it happened within the first few seconds of the fight because he didn't get to show people that hey
13:12
I'm I'm in shape he looked he looked like he was in incredible shape you know
13:17
um obviously the injury was [ __ ] up the fact that he didn't want to be seen
13:23
working out or doing like open workouts or anything or unembedded so it was
13:28
definitely affecting his training but uh yeah it just sucks that he wasn't able to fake it a little longer so we could
13:34
see a fight because I also feel bad for aljo you know I feel bad that algeman
13:39
Sterling's a championship Reign has been controversial in every fight I mean
13:47
don't feel too bad for him he's getting paid Championship money so he is I'm sure that dries his tears at night I'm
13:53
sure he's like okay what is that uh what is that a gif is it with Dave Chappelle
13:59
and he's like drying his tears of money um yeah I don't I don't feel super bad
14:05
for him but when you want to pick a champion to feel bad for
14:12
he's one of my top five you know one of my top five Champs to be like oh poor
14:17
chance you know no I get it he had a like I feel like it took forever for him to get the opportunity yeah like he just
14:24
kept getting looked over or not taken seriously or like whatever the reason was he just wasn't
14:31
like getting his shot when I think he should have a while ago but again things happen when they're meant to and now he
14:36
is in the championship spot and I do get what you're saying about you know his his wins I I think it's
14:43
I'm sure it's frustrating for sure yeah I'm sure he just wants to get like a nice secure one like uh like his one
14:49
over San Hagen it was just like bam like I'm a champ like you know like or I'm on
14:54
the way to being a champ like this is a this is a statement that's been made and
14:59
it's always nice to have that Invincible or like uh poor Charlie Olivera you know
15:06
like Charles Oliveira he had that aura of invincibility just because every time
15:12
he gets hurt he bounces back up and [ __ ] finishes yeah he knocks them out
15:18
or submits them it's like don't drop him because that's when you're gonna lose like if anything just try not to win and
15:25
it may be a win but uh islamakashev he he figured it out
15:32
he solved the riddle he solved the puzzle he just jumped on him and smooshed smeshed smashed is that what
15:39
they said smash especially I thought I I wanted Oliveira to strike
15:48
a little bit more because I think he has cleaner striking but he just didn't have
15:53
that opportunity that space yeah or maybe that wasn't you know his mindset
15:58
in the game he wanted to prove his his grappling was better I'm not sure what it was it just didn't pan out the way I
16:05
thought maybe Oliveira could start getting openings with I mean because he has he's really improved his striking
16:11
and he has power and I just thought that Market chapter his his striking wallet
16:18
looks powerful it's not as clean but again you don't have to be the cleaner Striker to you know well look at the
16:25
damage that he's taking and damage that Oliveira has taken and you know the weight Cuts always look pretty brutal
16:31
with all of them and they never he never really looks like he puts the weight back on in a way that someone like Islam
16:38
makashev puts the weight back on like he still looks sunken out he still looks a little frail
16:44
um and you can only take so much damage you know your chin can only take so much damage so a lot of times you have the
16:51
cleaner Striker getting wobbled more often against someone who's just coming
16:57
in like like a wrecking ball you know he's just coming in putting all his weight behind his punches he's not uh
17:03
really worried about overextending he's just going through and a few times it
17:09
looked really scary when he did his charge combo just like that boom boom boom
17:14
um it looked really scary like there is a lot of force behind those punches and I think uh Oliveira felt that early in
17:21
the fight I I can see that I just I literally got chills just thinking about like the 50 bleach haired blonde heads
17:29
rallying around him for making weight that's so cool though
17:34
I mean if you're gonna miss weight you can't do it in front of 50 people who bleached their hair this is true
17:41
that was incentive to make weight yeah let that happen again he had all of the
17:47
support from Brazil he brought literally in the locker room with him literally everyone was there yeah all of the
17:55
country oh my goodness I mean I don't know my I got an anxiety attack
18:01
just thinking about it but like a bunch of uh greasy ducklings [Music] [Laughter]
18:08
like because they're all well no because they're all sweaty because they were like legit like sweating with them in there they're like
18:15
shiny glistening like ducklings the water like you know when they come up and it's still glistening rolling off of
18:21
their fur or not fur feathers they're waterproof though yeah but it rolls off they're still like
18:27
beads okay yeah they're glistening a little bit okay yeah now it looked like ducklings okay maybe
18:35
not and that greasy which is wet like um like like being saved from an oil
18:40
spill greasy like being washed with like Palm Olive and Dove no because well no not like that oil is still
18:49
ducklings why is this like just like sweaty do they sweat I don't know I
18:55
don't think Ducks sweat anyways yeah they look maybe maybe oil
19:00
spilled like clear oil they just look like they helped like
19:06
they were in the sauna suit they were in the hot room with them and then he got
19:11
on the scale and everyone was like hey
19:20
we're too lemony no you enjoy that drink
19:26
I can't have any right now if um you guys did not know Angela was a bartender back in the day
19:33
and sometimes she practices so she doesn't lose her skills yeah
19:40
she got very creative in the kitchen is uh the first the first step it just
19:45
to like really woke up my taste but now it's okay well it's been sitting there for like 30 minutes so
19:51
I was like talking myself into it yeah
19:56
nobody is forcing you to drink it it's delicious yeah you know what I've had I've had a rough few days so you know
20:02
and I just wanted to just chug it just chug it check it like a shot I'm sure you've drink waste
20:08
yeah from you it's got flashbacks of the clam clam teeny oh yeah
20:16
post it for like a flashback or like a throwback yeah
20:22
yeah just be lucky there's no clam in that it's really good
20:29
jazz is also lightweight okay so she'll be throwing her top off after half of that
20:36
yeah half of that drink okay thank goodness social media was not a thing when I was growing up because I
20:42
used to respond to syt what is that show your tips oh really only when it was
20:48
very intoxicated oh okay is that like a do they say syt or do they just say my
20:53
friends did really that's weird is that California thing y'all abbreviate everything like I used to get so mad at
21:01
uh one of my friends because she I think she came out to California and then she came back to Maryland she's like yeah
21:08
let's go to CPK CPK I'm like the [ __ ] is that as like California Pizza Pizza Kitchen it was actually a river term
21:15
because I grew up going to the river what is the river
21:22
's in Arizona oh yeah they call it like Lake Havasu or uh Parker
21:27
there's other little um rivers or lakes bodies of water that people take their boats out on uh get extremely
21:34
intoxicated underage yes mostly yeah whatever happens on the river stays on
21:41
the river it's totally fine um and you just get wasted and bake all
21:46
weekend and sometimes you get beads these like
21:55
Mardi Gras beads oh okay let me show your boobs yeah so they stole it from Mardi Gras
22:00
just ganked it and they're like let's do this but on boat in a river I didn't make up the rules it's just
22:07
what happened fun yes yeah
22:12
so yeah it's a lot of fun we're showing our age because there wasn't social media back then
22:18
thank God when did social media come out come out I think we were in college right College Myspace Myspace popped up
22:26
and then what was your Myspace song I didn't have one I don't think
22:32
I don't remember what it was probably some indiary some Lauryn
22:37
Hill because I thought it was deep like something like that gotcha what would yours it was could you imagine
22:44
something very emo and emotional oh deep
22:51
what's that the girl somebody buy his [ __ ] Ataris or something like that oh that's what I
22:57
grew up with yeah nice something like that super fun yeah I don't know Ataris
23:03
uh they are a band from San Dimas like uh Orange County LA County area which is
23:08
where I grew up in Orange County so they were kind of like a local like band on the scene nice pretty fun music I did
23:16
have a lot of Atari t-shirts but it was for the video game console
23:22
because I'm cool I'm gonna play some atari's music I'm gonna play you Disneyland that's a great one is it
23:28
8-bit I don't know what that means anyway
23:37
it's a video game reference because my bad old school I mean I played video games that's 8-bit like the
23:44
the tetris sound like [Music] you could tell that there's only like I
23:51
don't know eight bits of sounds ah okay yes it's like playing something on one
23:58
of those xylophones with only eight like things to hit I don't think it's actually eight but
24:06
anyway um yes so that was a fun card
24:15
it was it was that was a fun card and uh then this weekend we had Calvin Qatar
24:24
that broke my heart versus Arnold Allen
24:29
what a what a nasty way to oh man yeah that's such a weird freak accident
24:39
because there's so many times someone throws a jump knee and someone circles out and that doesn't happen
24:45
no you know like they they try to track them with it they throw something jumping the person like moves away they
24:52
try to track him with it and then they land and everything's fine you know but in this instance he threw a jump knee on
25:00
circled out and he tried to like kind of follow him and for whatever reason when
25:06
he planted his foot his body was still turning and you could just see the like
25:11
yeah you could see the his knee pit just kind of spasm as his weight like settled
25:19
onto the canvas and it was so nasty I just saw oh yeah my stomach was just
25:26
turning watching that yeah it just it was awful yeah it was really and when
25:31
you see the disappointment in the corner too they're just like they're pointing at Arnold Allen of course he's like you
25:38
know ah [ __ ] but hey I won yay um they go over to kavakar and they're
25:43
just icing his knee and just you know doing the gosh darn it you know like that but
25:50
because it's just one of those things where you're always gonna go back to that moment you're always gonna be like
25:55
I was doing fine until that [ __ ] happened you know so yeah it was a rough one it's rough and I'm a fan of Calvin
26:02
for for two reasons I like his striking he has great like long range punches and
26:07
he is a bird Whisperer what does that mean that means that he rescues Birds
26:13
oh yeah yeah I just discovered this I thought it was like a fighting term no
26:19
like birds love him like he looks over at the person and you can just go
26:26
they're mesmerized I don't know what exactly it is but he's rescued Birds wow
26:32
yeah so he's a bird man he's a bird man
26:39
he should walk out to Birdman oh yeah that would be really funny
26:47
I can't remember any of his songs right now but but I can totally do it yeah
26:52
yeah you're pretty good at it thank you I always go
27:01
that's what it sounds like to me
27:06
can you purr like a cat no no
27:13
I can't roll my eyes either so that's probably it's all my I think my tongue's just like deficient it can't do that I
27:21
don't know I think I feel like there are some exercises that you could do to potentially help you with that in the future if you I'm just did you learn
27:27
them on the river I bet you did I was too busy playing my Ataris not
27:34
listening
27:39
a good girl Jess
27:45
you know you just show your tits every now and then I did you did once upon a
27:50
time ago and it was very short-lived my faces are very short-lived and they were
27:56
out of my by the time I turned 21 and I could actually legally drink I stayed home I've been staying home ever since
28:01
I'm like oh I could do this at home yeah more fun
28:08
well uh be careful with that next tip you're gonna take because
28:14
you might be wasted we know if I'm wasted if I start
28:19
slurring yeah if I can now roll long no longer roll my arms
28:25
sounds more like a gurgle oh um so that fight was really horrible but
28:33
I know that one was looking good in it um I thought he was just kind of hidden
28:38
and moving and and really just showing that that was his round before that
28:44
happened but Qatar is also a slow starter so you never know what would have happened in the next four yeah uh
28:51
so it's super unfortunate and it takes a minute for you know everybody to figure
28:56
stuff out yeah and so I'm not sure how the fight would have would have ended otherwise
29:01
but he was very gracious in Victory which I can appreciate it wasn't I mean there was like a moment where he hopped
29:06
on the cage and it was like don't do it bro and then he calmed down and he was very humble and I was like okay okay
29:12
I'll I'll allow this okay it's fine I know he got into your emotions I get it celebrate but don't celebrate too much
29:19
because it was like it's gonna look bad basically yeah you just don't do that to
29:26
yourself there was another nasty knee thing that happened did you see uh Phil
29:31
hawes's fight he fought uh this guy named Roman
29:36
dolanzi I can't pronounce his name but I've seen a fight before uh
29:43
and he fought the philhars guy with the blonde hair big old Bill Striker I
29:48
missed it tell me about it it sucked because there was a moment where he got caught in like a heel hook and I think
29:57
the guy felt him felt it pop and he let it go oh no but then Phil
30:03
Hall is kind of hobbled away like an injured little bird like it was it was really horrible to watch so he was able
30:10
to survive for a little bit until he cornered him against the cage and he was
30:16
literally fighting on one foot and got ended up getting knocked out like pretty badly I think I saw the highlight of it
30:22
yeah I wasn't able to catch like many of the fights that night yeah it was just super nasty but since we were on the
30:28
subject of knee things like that that was a really it was just like gross to me because
30:36
it was so bad the submission attempt was so bad that the guy putting it on let go
30:43
like it's like you don't want to be freaking Paula Harris or anything like that yeah also like you don't want to
30:51
let go because that that can happen exactly too long or like a Babaloo yeah
30:57
yeah who did who did he submit and then afterwards in the Octagon he was asked
31:02
like oh like you know why'd you hold it he was like yeah I know it did it on purpose oh yeah yeah like don't say that
31:10
blue again idiot no say you didn't hear him say you
31:15
didn't fill the top bro uh longevity of your career like don't just be a dick
31:22
and we never saw him again hey but good I'm glad he was honest because [ __ ] that like you shouldn't you shouldn't be
31:28
holding on to submissions if someone says I give up you need to let go like
31:33
that's that's just rude but in this case Phil Hall's is like fighting through it he was probably about to tap and the guy
31:40
just heard the damage and let go like oh good yeah he was even apologizing as a
31:47
separated and there was this weird moment where I forget which rap it was but they were like about to jump in but
31:54
didn't jump in yet and he's like oh I'm so sorry and he realized the fight was still going he's like oh [ __ ] I'll be
32:01
sorry later yeah oh [ __ ] wait not sorry Yet so that was a weird one too but just the
32:08
MMA is just so chaotic you know and and whenever I see new stuff I I get a
32:14
little uh you know because I know just from you know teammates and loved ones
32:21
like how long it takes to recover from something like that it could be career ending if it's at a certain point in
32:28
your career it can be really hard to bounce back from once you get one knee injury you can be a domino effect for
32:33
all sorts of other injuries um so yeah it's just it's just really hard to see especially because I was a
32:40
Oh that was but I'm a big fan of Phil Halls too um he's another one that throws like
32:46
really sick elbows he's does everything well he's a hard hitter so yeah that was
32:51
really hard to see but um would any other fights that stuck out to you on that one I'm not
32:59
no no because I didn't get to really watch it and then after that fight
33:06
um I turned on the lomachenko fight and then how was that I didn't get to watch that
33:11
so um it was he won okay it wasn't as dominant as I
33:18
think people were hoping seems to be a trend yeah and then
33:23
they're starting to talk about his age you know he's 35 which is awesome senior inboxing years and you know he's
33:30
been around for a long time competing since a very young age and then he wasn't as dominant I mean he still I
33:38
think he still decisively won and you know they're trying to match up fights in the future and they're just
33:44
thinking that maybe you know it's not as appealing of a fight but you know whatever and then
33:51
there was um right right as that was going on I was also watching Anderson Silva oh wow
34:00
wow it was yeah yeah
34:06
yeah I caught some of that too let's have a moment of silence for MMA
34:17
it's just so sad it's so disappointing you really want to see someone just [ __ ]
34:24
them up like I don't know why because he doesn't seem like that bad of
34:31
a guy like Jake Paul I'm sure like he plays a good uh a good bad guy to me he
34:37
plays a good bad guy but he also plays a good good guy which tells me that he's just doing whatever is gonna get clicks
34:44
he's an Entertainer he's an Entertainer for sure he is a shitster he is a
34:49
agitator um he knows how to get people watching the [ __ ] that he does whether you want
34:54
to see him win or lose yeah you're gonna tune in yeah um
35:00
yeah so what did you think about the fight overall so from it was
35:09
I I have very mixed feelings and thoughts and emotions about this because
35:15
again it's like it's one of our own yes [ __ ] Anderson Silva he's the girl crying out loud yeah and for him
35:26
to lose to someone who is just starting their their combat career it's it's
35:33
baffling to me yeah I thought what was going on is like uh do you remember when Mayweather fought McGregor and you know
35:41
Mayweather is a freaking stud and you saw him just kind of like
35:46
Carrie McGregor if he will yeah you know McGregor has some moments in the fight he landed a couple things
35:54
he did little shoulder rolls but yeah still you got a bit of face and shoulder rolls
36:01
it's um you know I just thought like it was kind of the same like my mind was saying
36:07
this is kind of the same thing this is Anderson Silva is kind of carrying
36:12
uh this guy in the fight you know he's not trying to like embarrass him he's
36:18
trying to make it look like a good fight and then I was you know wondering when like the thing was gonna happen and yeah
36:25
when are you gonna stop caring yeah when are you gonna like capitalize and there
36:32
were just there were moments where I thought he was gonna you know pick it up and capitalize and yeah if you didn't
36:38
and then before you know it it's the eighth round and I'm hearing the commentary you guys say
36:43
um oh Anderson himself is going to need to knock this guy out if he wants to win and I was like excuse me and then he got dropped
36:51
and then he lost a decision and I was just I'm confused yeah the commentary seemed
36:58
very Jake Paul leaning and while I was
37:03
watching the fight I felt like it was close but I felt like it I felt the same thing like it was close because Silva
37:10
was allowing it to be close because there were so many moments where he kind of he would Paul was something and he'd
37:17
line up like a cross or line up a punch perfectly and then he'd almost stop
37:23
right before it landed like he's just like he'd show the punch but there was
37:29
no reaction so you're like okay you should have thrown the punch or next
37:34
time he'll probably throw the punch that he saw Jake Paul didn't react to but
37:40
then it will happen again so it was really frustrating as a striker who has
37:47
watched Anderson Silva outbox the [ __ ] out of so many people and see him line
37:52
up these punches and then stop short of actually releasing the punch it was it was a
37:58
really odd moment and there were a few points where it even looked like he accidentally hit him too hard like
38:06
was like the sixth round or something he was like punching in the pocket and then
38:13
kind of came up uppercut and I think Jake Paul his reactions were so bad he
38:18
just like quit he did this
38:27
I just felt he was really un like he was not comfortable in the pocket he was
38:33
throwing his face into punches and Anderson Silva was stopping his fist from hitting him I don't know maybe his
38:40
hand hurt or something he didn't feel like mash in his face and but though there were a few moments like that where
38:47
I was just like you know what [ __ ] this fight and I think I stopped paying attention they're there because I felt I you've
38:54
heard the rumors that the Woodley fight was a fixed right yeah so it in my mind
39:01
I already have this going on and then I see those punches get lined up and then he doesn't pull the trigger and then on
39:08
my brain I'm just like this is a fixed so I'm I'm a little I'm
39:13
a little salty I'm a little salty I'll admit I'm salty that I get it he beat Anderson Silva but at the same time I
39:19
feel like he let Jake Paul went I just yeah I I mean I but you have to
39:28
take into the consideration that you know Anderson Silva's 47. he's not as Prime
39:34
um he's not a boxer there's a lot of things to consider there's a lot of possibilities there's a lot of questions and the MMA fighter and me is gonna be
39:42
hella [ __ ] biased towards Anderson Silva I'm like he let that happen there's no way no way this [ __ ]
39:49
can just show up and then be innocent Silva after like five years of training so I don't know it's it's frustrating to
39:57
watch and I didn't want to watch it because I knew I'd feel like this and I knew he was going to win because every
40:04
time I think someone's gonna beat him like oh he's never gonna get through this person he still gets thrown so it's
40:11
uh it's just so frustrating but Uriah Hall was also on that card he won
40:16
decision against his opponent and he was talking about fighting Jake Paul in the
40:23
future what do you think about that magic I don't care about that matchup
40:28
I don't why I mean you don't see it happen again
40:35
I I want to see Jake Paul fight an actual boxer that's that's what I want to see I'm
40:43
tired of oh hi butcher oh my goodness I know he was right there
40:50
butcher I just didn't know he's over us oh goodbye buddy do you want to come
40:55
back
41:02
I just I don't know Uriah Hall
41:07
um while he's an exciting striker in MMA I don't think he's a very exciting Striker for boxing I think he's better
41:14
with with kicks um and stuff like that so it's just not a fight that exactly want to see what I
41:22
would rather see is somebody with a boxing background who is you know of equal size you know
41:30
not finding up a weight class or two and I that's what I want to see I want to see him fight an actual boxer if you
41:35
want to watch weight class in his weight class um you know I'm not going to ask for testing or anything like that because I
41:42
think that's just way too much but I'm gonna ask that uh he'd be matched up with the boxer next
41:47
I want to see the NDA I want to see what's in the contract
41:52
because I feel like everyone has to sign some secret agreement that they can't
41:58
come out and say you know what I mean um I don't know I I feel like
42:03
the likelihood of Jake Paul being the successful it just doesn't make that
42:08
much sense to me it does not but he's doing a good job of picking his opponents he's picking the right people
42:14
another fight that was mentioned was Nate Diaz
42:20
that's another one where people are like I'll be a big money fight everyone wants
42:26
to see it happen Diaz Army is gonna show up for sure I mean they were there in
42:31
the background backstage there was like of course it was a thing I mean it's it's not a night
42:38
out with the Diaz crew the the Diaz Army unless there's you know security called yeah water bottles being thrown popcorn
42:46
there was there was a lot going on it was really I mean the the footage was you know a little underwhelming you know
42:53
I could use my imagination and figure out what was going on yeah okay yeah yeah something pretty cool happened yeah
43:00
definitely you just can't there's a lot of people there was a lot of shuffling uh it wasn't just like a little you know
43:06
a little it was like the whole thing nice so yeah so you know give me the
43:11
warm and fuzzies I again though like I'm all for I would rather see you know Nate
43:18
Diaz fight him however again he's like a 55 and 170 pounder and it's just yeah
43:25
it's still like an unfair matchup it still is you know um is there because I'm not super Versa
43:33
well I don't really know too many boxes at all but is there a boxer that you think would
43:40
challenge him that would be interested in that because I know a lot of boxes are just kind of like freak Show exactly
43:47
exactly and I don't think anyone like with a ranking or like you know right
43:53
who knows their worth is gonna you know step up for this because it's still it's it's kind of a spectacle you know I mean
43:58
not kind of it is um it is entertaining but I don't think anyone would like really get involved
44:06
with it well looks like he's fighting another MMA fighter [ __ ] uh
