so like the scariest thing about
0:01
retirement is realizing that you have to
0:03
be somebody else and I talked to for
0:05
Griffin about this last week actually
0:07
he's laughing he's like yeah man gota
0:09
worry about you when you're done I'm 37
0:12
I fig I got three more years in me like
0:14
three more good years in me I still feel
0:15
good but uh picking up more injuries
0:17
than I used to thank God I recover fast
0:20
it's not quite as fast as it used to be
0:23
so I'm trying to figure out now how to
0:25
balance being Christ thether and keeping
0:27
that fire versus having to saying that
0:30
like soon I have to transition into
0:32
whatever comes next but when your entire
0:35
life has been one thing and You'
0:37
identified as one thing you built your
0:40
entire life around being one person who
0:43
are you after this like that's what
0:45
makes retirement scary and that's why I
0:47
think we all come back because at our
0:49
core anyone that truly loves this anyone
0:51
that pushes how many fights do you have
0:54
uh Jess how many F did you have uh 20
0:57
something I kind of lost how many had
1:00
Angela um yes it's in the 30s yeah I'm
1:06
I'm like well under my 40s of just
1:08
professional fights so we put we've all
1:10
put a decent amount of time in and like
1:12
our lives in this so like isn't it weird
1:15
to think what do I do when this is gone
1:17
this is this is for me this is all I've
1:19
ever known 12 years old 10 years old
1:20
it's all I've everone to be so it's
1:24
terrifying and like part of me does lose
1:25
sleep over it like what do I do when
1:27
it's like what am I when it's gone
1:30
but I'm looking out you know my I've got
1:33
my kids I've got people that love me you
1:35
I'm start starting to kind of transition
1:37
from the mindset of just being christop
1:39
fighter so like yeah man like
1:41
retirements is is scary because this
1:44
this is a drug not only is it a drug
1:46
it's an addicting addiction but it's
1:48
it's your personality it's who you are
1:51
as a person for some people and for me
1:54
you know I built the core of my entire
1:56
being of being a fighter so like man
1:58
retirement never lasts because you're
1:59
like once you're done you're looking
2:01
around you're like I don't want to be a
2:02
regular person like this sucks I've got
2:04
no other useful skills I'm like oh this
2:07
sucks so you always come back so
2:09
hopefully in the next three years I can
2:10
figure that out you know what else makes
2:13
it so hard to walk away when you have
2:15
some like young hot person coming to the
2:17
gym and they're beating up everyone and
2:19
then you them
2:21
up you're
2:23
like still got it
